Cheek filler isn’t dead. Overfilled cheeks are. 🐿️

The “chipmunk cheek” era gave cheek filler a bad reputation — but modern cheek filler is no longer about simply making the cheeks bigger.

With my Nurse Jess signature approach, I focus on strategic placement based on each patient’s individual anatomy. In this case, focusing more on the lateral cheek allowed us to enhance her natural structure, create more definition and provide subtle support to the midface.

And look beyond the cheeks 👀 — that added support also helped soften the appearance of the nasolabial folds, without directly filling them.

Yes, we added volume. No, we weren’t afraid of it. 💋

“Natural” doesn’t have to mean making such a tiny change that no one can see the difference.

She wanted fuller, more defined lips, so that’s exactly what we created.

We added more filler… but we dissolved some first. 👀💉

The goal for this appointment was clear: more volume.

But before adding filler, there were a few small lumps of previous hyaluronic acid filler that were affecting the smoothness and contour of her lips.

During the same appointment, we used small amounts of hyaluronidase to selectively dissolve the unwanted areas, while preserving the filler we wanted to keep. We then strategically added fresh lip filler to build volume and improve the overall shape and balance.

The result: fuller, smoother lips without simply layering new product over old concerns. 🤍

This is why lip filler isn’t always as simple as “adding another syringe.” Previous filler, product placement, anatomy and your desired result all influence how we approach treatment.

What changed? Almost everything… without changing her. 👀

This is what strategic facial balancing with dermal filler can look like.

The goal wasn’t to make one feature bigger or dramatically change her face. It was to look at the face as a whole - proportions, projection, symmetry and how each feature relates to the next.

By strategically restoring and enhancing volume, we were able to create a more balanced appearance, improve facial harmony and subtly enhance her natural features.
