This is what connecting to self looks like; this is what grounding looks like; this is what embodiment looks like; this is what being present looks like.

This is what self-empowerment looks like.
This is yoga therapy ♥️

Three simple micro practices that can aid nervous system regulation on the spot:
1) Big yawn. Even if you don't need to, make the face, stretch the arms, exhale long.
2) Known as lion's breath in yoga, simply exhale with a little force while opening the mouth wide and extending the tongue and making sound. I have personally found this one to be exceptionally good when feeling stuck or frustrated.
3) Laughter. Preferably with a friend, but even a pretend laugh on your own can turn into a real one and positively affect the nervous system.

Which one is your favorite? I'd love to hear about it ♥️

What intuitive movement actually is.

It is not a practice in the traditional sense. There is no sequence. No correct form. No duration requirement. No outcome to achieve.

It is simply this: you, in a space with enough room to move, asking your body what it needs — and then following the answer without editing it.

Some days that looks like slow, fluid movement. Some days it looks like stillness with one hand on your heart. Some days it looks like shaking, or swaying, or lying on the floor, or dancing to one song in the kitchen, or rolling your shoulders for thirty seconds and calling it done.

All of it counts. All of it is the practice.
The only wrong answer is the one that came from somewhere outside your body rather than inside it.

Ask your body what it needs today

Standing in my kitchen at midday, YouTube rabbit hole open, chips in hand — I knew exactly where the afternoon was headed. Again.

This isn't a story about willpower. It's about what's actually happening in our brains when estrogen drops, dopamine depletes, and the couch wins.

And for those of us who have always been a little more sensitive, a little more easily overwhelmed — this chapter can hit harder than anyone warned us it would.

New essay up — including what we can do about it that costs exactly as much effort as the chips. (Spoiler: almost none.)

If I ask you about your relationship with your body, how do you feel?

Over the years she's changed shape. Changed rhythm. Changed in ways nobody warned you about.
Perhaps you felt as though your body was more of a foe than friend, treating her unkindly, squeezing her into clothing that was too small, or starved her, pushed her, prodded her
when all she was asking for was rest.

Now is the time to begin the journey back to loving her.

If you’re somewhere in the middle of a shift right now — an identity that no longer fits, a version of yourself you’re not quite done grieving, a new one that hasn’t fully arrived — I want you to know something.

Your body is not separate from that transition. It’s the ground it’s happening on.
