It is with profound sadness that Melanoma Canada announces the loss of Dr. Mike Connolly, one of our biggest champions.

To say Mike was a supporter puts it mildly. Mike was fiercely passionate about early detection of melanoma and skin cancer and donated much of his time over the years to our Mole Mobile.

We send love to his family, friends, and colleagues and dedicate the remainder of our 2026 Mole Mobile tour to Dr. Mike Connolly.

🖤 Tonight is a full moon, and your reminder to check your skin.

Melanoma can affect any skin tone, but it may look different or appear in less expected areas in darker skin tones, making it important to know what signs to look for.

✨ TIP: Don’t forget your nails! Look for new or changing dark streaks, spots, or marks on your fingernails and toenails.

A cancer diagnosis can come with a lot of information, decisions and questions - often at a time when it can feel difficult to process it all.

You may be trying to understand your diagnosis, prepare for appointments, navigate treatment options or simply figure out what questions to ask next.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Melanoma Canada offers free, one-on-one Cancer Coaching to support people impacted by melanoma and skin cancer.

Our Cancer Coach can provide one-on-one support to help identify areas of desired change, set goals and make a plan to work towards that change. Three key areas a Cancer Coach can help with include: emotional, physical and practical aspects that present during cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management.

Cancer Coaching doesn’t replace the advice or expertise of your healthcare team. It gives you a dedicated space to talk through what you’re experiencing and feel more informed and prepared as you move forward.
