There is some confusion with these apps.
Google Live TranscribeDeveloper: Built by Google in partnership with Gallaudet University.Platform: Available exclusively for Android devices (often built into system accessibility settings).Cost: Completely free with no hidden subscription fees.Features: Real-time speech-to-text conversion, sound notifications (like doorbells or smoke alarms), support for 70+ languages, and offline transcription modes.Generic "Live Transcribe" AppsDeveloper: Various third-party developers.Platform: Available on various platforms, including iOS (Apple App Store), where Google's official app does not exist.Cost: Many third-party apps with similar names use high subscription fees or free-trial traps (charging high annual costs after a short trial).Features: May include extra AI features like automatic meeting summaries or translation, but are not made or vetted by Google.

*********Calling All Veterans**********

Just a friendly note to invite you and bring your attention to our Convention which is offering a Veterans track on Thursday, October 8th, 2026 at the Williamsburg Lodge, 310 S England St. in Williamsburg, Va. 23185 for those veterans who are losing their hearing, and offer some coping strategies. You can check out our website www.alda.org and click on ALDAcon. I am also attaching a slyer about our conference.

We are offering a special Veteran One Day Rate for $100. (which also includes lunch, if you sign up by Sept. 30th, a fantastic value) for Thursday only. To sign up online, fill out the Ez Pay form Here is the link to the form:EZ pay Form
