Working with Bear Medicine today. 🐻

The spirit of Bear invites us to slow down, turn inward, and listen to the deeper wisdom held within our bodies.

Bear Medicine carries the energy of strength, courage, protection, and healthy boundaries. But its strength is not always loud or forceful. Sometimes it is the quiet strength to stand your ground. To protect what is sacred. To rest when your body asks for rest. To retreat from the noise long enough to hear what is true for you.

Bear reminds us that there is a season for moving forward—and a season for returning to our inner cave.

If you feel drawn to work with Bear Medicine, you might pause and ask:

What needs my protection right now?
Where am I being called to create a stronger boundary?
What would it mean to trust my own strength?
Is my body asking me to act—or to rest?

You can connect with Bear through meditation, journeying, time in nature, or simply by sitting quietly with its image and noticing what feelings, memories, or messages arise.

Today, Bear is reminding me that rest is not weakness, boundaries are not rejection, and I do not have to prove my strength for it to be real.

What does Bear Medicine awaken in you?

September Newsletter 🍂 A Time to Take Stock

September carries that feeling of being between seasons. Summer hasn't completely disappeared, but we can already feel things shifting. In the seasonal wheel, this is traditionally a time to gather, take stock, and notice what the year has brought us so far.

Here are a few ways to pause, connect and make a little space for yourself this month.

I took this photograph the other morning because I thought it was cute.

I had placed my coffee mug beside the one my husband was drinking from, and I thought it would make a sweet, slightly funny post.

But the more I looked at these two mugs, the more I began to see something else.

On one side is a soft, feminine face covered in flowers. She looks peaceful and gentle—but she has no mouth.

On the other is a mug that says, depending on how much coffee has been consumed:

*Don’t speak.*
*Hold on.*
*Okay, I’m listening.*

And somehow, these two mugs made me think about boundaries.

The flowered face reminded me of the part of us that listens, supports and makes room for everyone else. The part that may stop whatever it is doing when someone needs something. The part that is always available—but may struggle to speak up, say no or ask for what it needs.

The other mug may sound a little harsh at first. *Don’t speak.* But perhaps there is also something healthy in its message:

*I can’t be available to you right now.*

And then, with a little time:

*Okay. Now I’m ready to listen.*

A boundary doesn’t always mean rejecting someone or refusing to care. Sometimes it simply means choosing when and how we are able to show up.

It is giving ourselves permission to say, “I can’t hold this right now, but I can come back to you when I have the space.”

So, as you look at these two mugs, where do you see yourself on this boundary spectrum?

Do you often stop what you are doing to take care of someone else?

Do you make room for everyone’s feelings while struggling to speak about your own?

Can you allow yourself to say, “Not right now”—without feeling guilty?

And when you do listen, is it because you have chosen to—or because you feel you have to?

Sometimes losing ourselves doesn’t happen all at once. Sometimes it happens in all the small moments when we continually set ourselves aside.

About 10 years ago, I joined a training called Earning The Light.

At the time, I was searching for something deeper than surface-level healing or spiritual performance. I was carrying things I didn’t fully know how to name yet.

What I found was not a perfect path or easy answers.

It was honest work.
Grounded work.
The kind of work that asks you to meet yourself fully.

This June, a new cycle begins, and I’m honoured to be returning as part of the TA support team for the program that once supported me.

Earning The Light, created and guided by Pete Bernard (Mishkwa Kimiwan), is a two-year training in Spiritual Healing, Energy Medicine, and Sacred Alchemy.

What I respect most about this work is that it does not ask you to pretend you have it all together.

It recognizes that many of us carry grief, survival patterns, regret, pain, fear, shame, and parts of ourselves we’ve struggled to face.

And still…
healing is possible.

Not through performance.
Not through bypassing.
But through honest, embodied work.

If you’ve been feeling called toward deeper healing, shadow work, spiritual development, or learning how to support others through lived experience and grounded practice, this may speak to you.

You do not need to arrive “fixed.”
Only willing to show up honestly.

If you’re curious about the program or want to hear about my own experience with it, feel free to reach out. ❤️

🌿 SATURDAY PRACTICE ~ A Simple Practice to Call Your Energy Back

✨ If someone has been heavily on your mind lately…
or you’ve been feeling emotionally pulled toward a person or situation…
here’s a simple practice you can try.

Find a quiet moment if you can.

🌿 Take a slow breath in through your nose…
and a long breath out through your mouth.

Again.
Slow inhale.
Long exhale.

Now gently bring to mind the person, relationship, or situation.

Not to analyze it.
Just noticing that it’s there.

Then imagine your energy slowly returning back to you.

✨ Like gathering scattered pieces of yourself.
✨ Like calling your attention, life force, and presence back home to your own body.

You don’t need to force anything.
You don’t need to “cut everything off.”

Just gently notice yourself returning to yourself.

You might quietly say:

💛 “I call my energy back to myself.”
💛 “I release what no longer needs to stay connected.”

Take another slow breath.

Notice your body.
Your chest.
Your stomach.
Your feet on the floor.

🌿 Let yourself be here again.

Even a small shift matters.

Take what you need from this.

🌿 Sometimes It’s More Than Emotional

✨ A lot of people come into sessions thinking they “should be over it by now.”

But often, what they’re experiencing isn’t just emotional.

Sometimes their system is still carrying:
• stress from the relationship
• lingering emotional attachment
• energetic heaviness
• protective responses that stayed activated
• or a feeling that part of them is still caught in the connection

This is often the deeper layer we begin working with in sessions.

🌿 Through energy healing and shamanic practices, we may gently support:
• clearing lingering energy
• releasing emotional residue
• cord cutting work
• reconnecting with your own energy
• strengthening boundaries
• calling parts of yourself back to the present

Not through force.
Not through reliving everything repeatedly.

But by helping your system feel safe enough to release what it no longer needs to hold.

💛 Sometimes healing after a relationship isn’t about forgetting someone.
It’s about returning to yourself again.

If this resonates, you’re welcome to explore a session.

🌿 When a Relationship Still Feels Like It’s Affecting You

✨ Sometimes after a relationship, friendship, or difficult connection…
you don’t fully feel like yourself again right away.

Even if time has passed.
Even if you know it was the right decision.

Something can still feel… lingering.

You might notice:
• thinking about them more than you want to
• feeling emotionally pulled back into the dynamic
• exhaustion after contact
• difficulty settling your energy
• feeling unlike yourself in ways you can’t fully explain

Relationships can affect more than our thoughts.

Sometimes our system continues holding the stress, tension, emotional residue, or energetic weight of what happened — even after the relationship itself has changed or ended.

🌿 That doesn’t mean you’re weak.
And it doesn’t mean you’re “stuck forever.”

It usually means something in you still needs support, care, release, or reconnection.

This is often where deeper healing work can help.

Not by forcing you to “move on” faster…
but by helping your system gently let go of what it no longer needs to carry.

💛 You don’t have to force yourself back to feeling okay.
Sometimes healing begins by simply noticing what’s still there.

🌿 Saturday Practice — Returning to Your Body

✨ As the season shifts into spring, you might feel a pull to move forward, start fresh, or grow into something new.

But before you push yourself into the next thing, it can help to come back to your body first.

Here’s a simple grounding practice you can try today:

🌿 Place both feet on the floor.

Let your shoulders soften.

Take a slow breath in through your nose…
and a longer breath out through your mouth.

Do that again.

Slow inhale.
Long exhale.

Now gently notice the weight of your body.

The chair beneath you.
The floor beneath your feet.
The way your body is being held right now.

You don’t have to rush into growth.
You don’t have to force clarity.
You don’t have to know what comes next.

✨ For a few breaths, let yourself simply arrive here.

Then quietly ask:

💛 “What do I need in order to feel a little more steady today?”

Don’t search too hard for the answer.
Just notice what comes.

Maybe it’s rest.
Maybe it’s space.
Maybe it’s movement.
Maybe it’s support.

Let the answer be simple.

🌱 Spring growth doesn’t always begin with pushing.
Sometimes it begins with feeling steady enough to take one honest step.

Take what you need from this.
