Bad news for acne. She clocked in.

If you have been fighting breakouts since high school and you are well past high school, you are not doing it wrong. Adult acne is usually hormonal, inflammatory, or barrier related, and the drugstore aisle has no way of telling you which one you are actually dealing with. So you rotate through products, something helps for three weeks, then you are back where you started.

Sorting out which type you have is the part that comes first. What is driving it, what your skin can tolerate, and what is realistically going to change it. From there a plan might involve laser, medical grade skincare, peels, or some combination, built around your skin instead of whatever went viral last week.

Clearer skin takes a plan and a bit of patience. It does not take twelve products bought at midnight.

When someone comes in after significant weight loss, the instinct is to reach for the biggest fix first. We think about it differently, in a sequence.

First, name what changed. Weight-loss volume loss tends to hit the midface and temples first, which is what reads as hollow. Second, foundation before surface. If deep volume is gone, layering surface treatments on top first doesn't hold, it's painting over a crack. That's usually where biostimulators like Sculptra or Radiesse fit, because they rebuild volume gradually through your own collagen, which suits loss spread across the whole face far better than filling point by point.

Skin-quality work comes after that, not before. And timing matters, if you're still losing weight, it usually makes sense to wait until things settle so you're not chasing a moving target. The goal isn't more treatments. It's the right order, so you end up looking like yourself and not overfilled. Ask us about starting with an assessment.

September at Glow, three ways.

The tan fades, the makeup starts sitting differently, and the texture you did not notice in July is suddenly the thing you see in every photo. Summer is hard on skin in the Okanagan. Sun, heat, chlorine and lake water all add up, and September is when it shows.

Three things worth knowing about this month.

Aerolase, buy four sessions and your fifth is on us. Calmer skin is a course, not a single appointment, and pricing a package this way is us saying so out loud rather than selling you one session and hoping.

The Layered Approach, a biostimulator paired with a skin booster in one appointment for $1,400. Two depths, two timelines. The biostimulator works on structure over months, the booster works on hydration and surface quality much sooner, so you are not waiting on one thing to start seeing the other.

The Glow Society, join this month and get a $50 credit. Your monthly fee becomes credit in your account toward treatments, services and retail. Good skin is not a season, it is a schedule, and most people who get consistent results are just the ones who booked ahead.

Not everything on this list is right for every skin. That part is what the consult is for.

As summer winds down, your skin actually wants something a little different, and none of it is complicated.

Here are five easy shifts for the season change:

Switch to a richer moisturizer. Cooler air holds less moisture, so the lightweight gel that felt perfect in July can leave you feeling tight by September. Going creamier keeps your barrier comfortable.

Keep your vitamin C going. It's an antioxidant, so it earns its place year-round, not just in summer. Apply it in the morning and let it work under everything else.

Reintroduce actives slowly. Fall is when a lot of people restart retinol and exfoliants, since skin is less sun-sensitive. Just don't rush it. Easing in beats overdoing it and dealing with irritation.

Don't retire the SPF. Lower sun doesn't mean no sun. Sunscreen stays on the morning lineup, grey days included, because UV is still reaching your skin.

Book the treatments that dislike UV. Peels, resurfacing, brightening, and BBL all do better in this cooler window. If any of those are on your list, now's the time to plan them.

Not sure where to start? That's what a consultation is for. Come in, we'll look at your skin, and build a plan that fits the season and your goals.

Yeah. Yeah I am. And I stand by it.

Jokes aside, the flip is kind of the point. Good skin doesn't come from a random product off a shelf or whatever's trending that week. It comes from someone who actually knows skin, looks at yours, and tells you the truth about what it needs.

That's the part we take seriously. The treatments, the product picks, the plan, all of it comes from real training and years of actually doing this, not guesswork. So when we tell you something will help your skin (or gently talk you out of something that won't), it's coming from people who genuinely know.

Trust is everything when it's your face. If you've been looking for someone to actually hand your skin over to, we'd love to be that for you.

Late August is quietly one of the best times all year to sit down and plan your skincare, and almost nobody thinks about it that way.

Here's the logic. As we head into fall, the sun starts pulling back. That matters more than it sounds, because a whole category of treatments doesn't play well with strong summer sun. Peels, resurfacing, brightening work, and BBL all do better when your skin isn't getting hit with intense UV every day. Doing them in peak summer often means more risk and more babysitting your skin afterward. Doing them as the light softens just makes more sense.

There's a timing piece too. A lot of these treatments take a little while to show their full result. So if you start now, you're not waiting around. You're lined up to be glowing right as fall arrives, instead of starting from scratch in October wishing you'd begun sooner.

The best first step isn't booking a random treatment off a list. It's a consultation. Let's actually look at your skin, talk through what you want to see, and build a plan that fits the season and your goals.

That little orange-peel dimpling on your chin when you talk, pout, or concentrate? A lot of people think it's a skin texture issue and go chasing creams for it. It's usually not skin at all.

It comes down to a small muscle in your chin called the mentalis. In some people it's just a little more active than average, and every time it flexes, it bunches up the skin sitting on top. That's the dimpling. It's completely normal, it's not damage, and no amount of exfoliating or moisturizing will change it, because the cause sits underneath the skin, not on it.

The good news is that it's well understood, and it's the kind of thing we look at all the time when we assess the lower face as a whole. If that little chin tell has been bugging you, the best move isn't guessing from a video, it's having someone actually look at how your muscles move and talk you through your options.

That's exactly what a consultation is for. Come in and we'll walk through what your lower face actually needs, no pressure, just a clear picture.

POV: you "forgot" about your appointment and now you're getting The Call. πŸ“ž

We see you. The one who booked three weeks ago, full of good intentions, and then life happened. No judgment here, we've all been the person dodging our own calendar. But your skin remembers, even when you don't.

Here's the thing: consistency is where the real results live. The facial you keep pushing, the treatment you keep meaning to rebook, the follow-up you swore you'd schedule. It all adds up, and so does skipping it.

So consider this your friendly reminder. Same energy as the call. 😌 If you've been meaning to get back in, now's your sign.

If your hyaluronic acid stopped wowing you, don't blame the serum yet. It's almost always the timing.

Here's the fix, and it takes two seconds:

Apply it on slightly damp skin, never bone-dry. HA is a magnet for water, so it needs moisture to grab onto. Put it on dry skin and it can actually pull water up from deeper layers, which is the opposite of what you want. Damp skin gives it something to hold.

Then seal it. Follow right away with a moisturizer to lock everything in. This matters even more right now, when dry, air-conditioned late-summer air is quietly pulling moisture off your skin all day.

That's the whole trick. Damp skin, then seal. Most people skip both steps, and that's exactly why their HA falls flat.

Small tweak, real difference. If you want, come in and we'll look at the rest of your routine and fine-tune it for the season, so every product you own is actually pulling its weight.
