A bittersweet goodbye to our dear friend Brandon! 💚

Our Community Participation Support Services and Supported Independent Living programs recently celebrated our friend Brandon, as he begins an exciting new chapter in his life.

We’ll certainly miss seeing his infectious smile throughout our building, but we couldn’t be more excited for all that’s ahead!

Boot Scootin’ Bingo is coming to Delta Bingo and Gaming Peterborough on September 19th! 🎶

Enjoy a night of country music, line dance lessons, a costume contest, and bingo … all while supporting the important role that charitable gaming plays in our community. 🌟

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a very special member of the Alternatives community and friend Michael, who passed away on August 18, 2026.

Michael brought so much joy, laughter, and warmth to the lives around him. He loved karaoke at Alternatives, getting dressed up in a sharp suit, and most of all … making people smile. His kindness, genuine spirit, and wonderful sense of joy made him someone special to know.

Michael touched the lives of so many people in our community, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we remember Michael, we hope to hold close the memories, laughter, and happy moments shared with him, and the joy he brought to so many lives. 🤍

SUCCESS STORY INCOMING! ⬇️

Meet Emma! 👋🏻

Emma learned to navigate The City of Peterborough bus system over a year ago, and it has become an important part of her independence! She says the bus gets her where she needs to go and that she finds it reliable. Emma LOVES being independent and is grateful to the staff who supported and encouraged her while she learned how to use the bus system.

She is very proud of the skills she has gained, and the confidence it has given her!

And Emma … we are proud of YOU! 🌟

Team Peterborough - we are SO proud of you! 👏🏻 💚

Peterborough Special Olympics athletes were covered in hardware, bringing home 24 medals while representing Team Ontario at the Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat, Alb., from Aug. 11 to 15.

Meet Gavin! 👋🏻
Gavin is a local yoga instructor who brings catered yoga classes to some of the groups at Alternatives CPS. Beyond leading our sessions, Gavin takes the time to get to know the people he works with and dedicates time each week to creating a welcoming space where everyone can have fun, build resilience, and celebrate what makes us unique.

We’re so lucky to have Gavin as part of our community and truly appreciate all that he does! Thank you, Gavin! ⭐️
