Your child came home with their lunch untouched… again. 😩

Before we assume they’re being “picky” or “difficult,” let’s get curious. 🧐

There are SO many reasons a child might not eat their school lunch:

🥪 The texture changed after sitting in a lunchbox or travelling around all morning.

⏰ They simply didn’t have enough time to eat.

👀 They don’t feel comfortable eating in front of other kids.

🍝They saw a friend’s lunch and suddenly that looked much more appealing.

🤷‍♀️ They just weren’t interested in what was packed that day.

Instead of criticizing the uneaten food, ask questions.

What made it hard to eat? What would make it easier next time? What ideas do YOU have?

Getting your child’s input—and involving them in finding solutions—is so much more useful than telling them what they “should” have eaten.

Because the goal isn’t a perfectly balanced lunchbox.

The goal is that they actually eat something.

The best lunch you can pack is the one your kid will actually eat. 🥪

Not the one that looks the most “Pinterest worthy».
Not the one packed with foods they «should » eat.
Not the one that comes home untouched.

A lunch your child enjoys, feels comfortable eating, and has enough of to get them through the afternoon is a successful lunch.

Sometimes that means the same sandwich three days in a row.
Sometimes it means crackers, fruit and a snack they love.
Sometimes it means keeping it very, very simple.

Wishing all parents and students a smooth (and nourished!) transition back to school!
