Asanas, or postures, are only part of the yoga experience. In this class our teachers will help you tap in to something deeper on your mat. In Mindful Flow we use the body and breath to focus our awareness on the present moment. Through breath and movement this flowing sequence of postures develops strength and flexibility, but also brings you deeper into your practice. They will also sprinkle in breathing techniques to help you release tension and shake off the trials of your day.

The way we breathe has a big impact on our thoughts, emotions and physical health. When we focus on a slow smooth breath we can move the body into a relaxed parasympathetic state, (rest & digest) and receive the benefits that Yoga breathing has to offer.

Here are some tips to consider:

✨Slow down! Go at your own pace.
✨Practice Ujjayi Breathing - this audible 'throat breath' keeps the breathing at the centre of your attention.
✨The 4 Part Breath – pay attention to each inhale, exhale and the pauses between the two.
✨Place each movement INSIDE the breath – start the breath before the movement starts and finish the breath after the movement is complete.
