Starting early is totally fine! 🦃

At our Creekside Child Development Centre in False Creek, the little ones sat down together for a Thanksgiving feast, a tradition that began at Creekside in 2011.

Fifteen years on, it's still one of our favourite days of the year: a roasted turkey and a room full of kids who are proud to be at the table together.

Thank you to our Creekside educators for making this day special year after year, and to the families who make our community what it is.

Happy Thanksgiving, turkeys! *gobble gobble!*

As the ghoulish fog rolls over the Lower Mainland and the nights grow darker, Halloween magic is in the air! From spooky strolls and festive gatherings to eerie encounters and family-friendly fun, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the season without frightening your wallet.

Keep this as an election issue and make child care affordable for all families. DDA endorses this campaign.

Yesterday, if you opened your copy of the Globe and Mail, you'll see a full page letter from 50 child care organizations across BC. They have a simple message for all parties in this election: child care is in crisis.

Whomever is elected will need to course correct because right now the child care sector is in jeopardy.

This should be a no brainer: even the federal government agrees that child care is critical infrastructure for a prosperous economy. We need quality, affordable care so that parents can go to jobs in health care, mining, retail, trades, and every other sector of B.C.'s economy.

That's why we're urging you to make your voice heard as well. Ask your candidates where they stand on $10aDay. The more they hear how important this is to you, the harder it will be to ignore.
