I've been on a lot of rants lately. But I couldn't stop myself from doing one more.
A respected friend posted an article about how important it was for us all to forgive Fauci and move on, and leave the pandemic behind us finally. The tone of the article was "if you're a good person, you'll just forgive him and shut up about things". This is wrong in so many ways. Here is my response:
We should not "forgive Fauci".
If you actually read his diaries and compared them against what he said in public and when he said it, it was clear that he was malevolent, as defined by a complete disregard for the truth, and a quest for power, an inflated ego, and the belief that there should be total subservience of the public health establishment, politicians, and the entire country to his every whim and diktat.
If one follows the details (things like knowing the mortality rate was only slightly higher than the flu, but then just 2 wks later stating it was more than ten times that), he CLEARLY lied, and knew he was lying when he lied. It wasn't a "mistakes were made" scenario.
He projected certainty regarding the efficacy of harmful interventions (forced masking, forced lockdowns (until 2020 a term only used for prison riots), 6 foot rules, shutting down schools, shutting down small businesses, forcing universal vaccination) at a time when there was zero scientific certainty - and sometimes zero science period - behind them.
He lied about there being scientific evidence for the things he suggested and then said that anyone who criticized him was criticizing science, even though the basic premise of science is skepticism, refutation, and argument.
And then, after all was said and done he then lied that he had done these things. ("I never locked anyone down"). But the thing about having been a media rockstar is that there are thousands of videos proving that he lied.( If you google "Matt Orfalea Fauci Video" and watch it through the link posted on the Western Journal website, it is incredibly enlightening, and enraging. )
Why would he plead the 5th when he already has a pardon? He literally can't incriminate himself, because he has complete immunity (thanks a lot Dementia Joe).
Many people think forgiveness is the same as forgetting. It is not. One can forgive the person who murdered their son. It doesn't mean they don't want him to be in prison, or will ever forget that their son was murdered by that man. Forgiveness is for people who have owned up for an apologized for their mistakes. It is not for people who have done great harm and continue to lie and evade responsibility.
Fauci ruined many lives. I had patients and friends and family who were hurt, damaged, or died due to pandemic policy - policies that started with Fauci's arrogant lies.
I will forgive him from the bottom of my heart, but only once he comes clean and admits his errors. I don't know how God will judge him, but until he apologizes I will continue to judge him as an evil liar who hurt many, many people in his quest for fame and power. And whether he comes clean or not, I will never forget the evil he did.
