Canada’s largest autism conference preparing to put AI under the microscope.

About half of Canadians now use AI tools to diagnose or treat health issues. At Symposium 2026, clinicians, educators, researchers and autistic people take a close look at what that means for autism care. (Canadian Medical Association, 2026)

AI is one conversation of many. Over two days, the program also covers profound autism, Ontario’s autism service system, service gaps for neurodivergent Black African Caribbean adults and caregivers, and Universal Design for Learning, with keynotes by Kaelynn Partlow and Grant Bruno, PhD.

It was a privilege to host Bengali Moms International’s Autism Awareness Seminar at our Danforth clinic!

Parents, educators, professionals and community members came together for an afternoon of learning and real conversation. Our team members Joy Peters and Nev Atwal were glad to share information about autism and the supports available to families, alongside ABA Support Services. We were also grateful to hear from MPP Adil Shamji.

The parent speakers who shared their own experiences were the heart of the day. Their stories showed how much awareness grows through connection and community.

Thank you, Bengali Moms International for creating such a welcoming space for families, and for inviting us to be part of it. We look forward to continuing this work together.

Last week, Nigel Downer, Robbie Tanco, Rick Peckham, and Roshanak came by our office to prepare for Unscripted. It gave our panelists a chance to get to know each other before they sit down with Jully Black on November 12, and it was great to have everyone in one room.

Canada’s Queen of R&B Soul is about to answer questions she’s never seen.

Jully Black is a two-time JUNO Award winner, a Canada’s Walk of Fame inductee and one of CBC Music’s 25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever. On Thursday, November 12, for one night only, she sits down with no script. Three panelists, Robbie Tanco, Roshanak and Rick Peckham, wrote the questions, and she hears them for the first time in front of you. Nigel Downer hosts.

Meet two of the speech-language professionals on our team!

On the right is Milana Chengelia, a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who has been with Geneva Centre since August 2025. She’s holding an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device running one of the apps we use with clients who communicate with AAC.

On the left is Lois Guidote, our Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), who joined us in September. Lois brings experience from her years as an SLP in the Philippines. She’s holding two of our favourite tools:
🎁 A jack-in-the-box, which our early language learners love during child-led play
👄 A mouth model, which shows kids where to place their tongue and lips as they learn specific sounds

Every tool has a purpose, and every voice matters. We’re so glad to have Milana and Lois on our team!
