Cascadia Skincare

Cascadia Skincare We lovingly handcraft soap and natural skincare that is good for you and our environment. Vegan friendly, cruelty-free & sustainable.

Francine’s journey with Cascadia Skincare began more than a decade ago as she decided to move on from her career in the beauty industry as a full time aesthetician. ‘There was just too many unknown and toxic ingredients involved in what it seemed like all the highly recognized and utilized beauty brands.’ She moved on from her career to live a cleaner lifestyle. Coming back from an in depth yoga t

eacher training at an Ayurvedic retreat centre in Southern India transformed her perspective of health, well-being, and lifestyle. It was clear to her from that point onward that what you expose yourself to becomes a part of your whole, whether it be the environment you live in, the beauty products you apply on your skin, or the food you ingest. Joel Morassutti who was born on a small farm and vineyard in the South of France, observed his mère and grand-mère making soap the old fashioned way. The family tradition of an at-home apothecary goes back many generations. On the farm and vineyard, as each season arrived, the botanicals would be harvested and transformed into self-nourishing, healing preparations such as soaps, remedies, infusions, and teas. This tradition made its way to the Cascadia region as Joel’s family immigrated in the early 1960s and sometime after Joel, with his wife Maureen, birthed The Cascadia Soap Company on the lush, beautiful land of British Columbia, Canada. The family’s apothecary has been providing clean, plant-based soaps and skincare remedies in North America and beyond for more than 3 decades. Francine took the reins almost a decade ago and she continues with much pride this Southern French lineage of the Morassutti family by formulating and creating natural health and skincare remedies with only the purest quality ingredients our Mother Nature has to offer.

We formulated our shampoo bar 🧼with castor oil, coconut oil, and olive oil to respect your scalp’s delicate pH balance, while removing dirt and excess oil build up.

It’s like washing your face with a ph balanced bar of soap. It doesn’t strip your natural oils but rather leaves your hair naturally resilient 👱🏼‍♀️

Of course these plant based oils are saponified which creates this gorgeous bubbly lather, leaving your hair feeling silky clean 💁🏻‍♀️

Have you tossed your liquid shampoo yet?

How we’re feeling over here on the last seemingly summerish day in Vancouver, BC 🌲☀️🌊💋

Autumn 🍂 weather intensely rolls in this week 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌦️🌧️ 😩

Who else is feeling the grief with me?

Love how Vancouver shines in the non-rainy season, like there’s no where else you’d ever wanna be ♥️

Can you actually read your skincare label?!

Ingredient lists can look intimidating—but once you know what to look for, they become much easier to understand.. I promise.

A few simple tips 👇👇👇

Start at the top ✔️ Ingredients are usually listed from highest to lowest concentration, so the first few ingredients often tell you the most about the base of a formula.

Don’t be intimidated by Latin names ✔️ Cosmetics use standardized INCI names. Something like Lavandula Angustifolia Oil is simply lavender essential oil. Botanical ingredients often show the Latin name first, followed by a more familiar common name.

Look at the formula as a whole ✔️
Rather than judging one ingredient in isolation, look at what makes up the base, what provides the active benefits, and what contributes texture or scent.

Our new blog post breaks down the ingredient list of our Botanical Renewal Bakuchiol Serum to guide you into becoming a decoding expert! See 🔗 in stories 🤳

In a quiet bowl, where earth and water meet, I gather herbs with fragrances sweet.
A drop of oil, a flower, a leaf,
Simple treasures offering gentle relief.

I blend them slowly, with patient hands,
Following nature’s unspoken plans.
Shea butter softens, aloe cools,
Honey brings warmth with golden rules.

No harshness here, no need to hide,
Just nourishing care from nature’s side.
Each cream and balm, each silky glow,
Carries the wisdom of seeds that grow.

With every blend, the senses softly bloom, A little jar holds nature’s sweet perfume.
Each gentle touch brings calm and light..

A daily ritual of pure delight 🌷
