A new name with a powerful meaning.

This spring, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Elders and cultural teachers gifted the name ya:y̓əstəl̕ to the Indigenous Guiding Circle that advises Doctors of BC on and Indigenous-specific anti-racism efforts.

In the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language, ya:y̓əstəl̕ means “working together” in a reciprocal way.
