â¨Some losses are complicated.
When someone you love dies because of substance use or an overdose, grief can come with so much more than sadness. There may be anger. Guilt. Questions that never get answered. Memories of years spent worrying, hoping, helping, setting boundaries, trying again, and wishing things could have been different.
And sometimes, thereâs stigma surrounding the loss that makes it even harder to talk about.
At The Health Retreat, we support people who have been impacted by substance use, including those grieving the death of someone they love.
Therapy can be a place to talk honestly about the person you lost, the relationship you had, what you went through before their death, and what youâre carrying now.
Today, we remember the people who died from overdose.
And we remember the people who loved them.
