At Brandon Podiatry, infection control is not an optional extra — it’s part of every treatment. 👣

The instruments we use are thoroughly cleaned and then sterilised and sealed in individual sterilisation pouches until they’re ready to be used.

And it’s not just about what you can see. An instrument can look perfectly clean and still require proper decontamination and sterilisation.

So next time you’re having your nails or feet treated, ask what happens to the instruments between clients.

“But they look clean” isn’t the same as “they’re sterile.” 👀

If you have diabetes, don’t forget your feet.

A quick daily foot check can help you spot small changes before they become bigger problems.

🔎 Look — check for cuts, blisters, redness, swelling or changes in your skin or nails.
🦶 Check between your toes — don’t forget those easily missed areas.
💧 Moisturise — keep dry skin hydrated, but avoid putting moisturiser between your toes.
✂️ Don’t DIY corns or hard skin — especially if you have reduced sensation.
📞 Notice a change? Don’t ignore it. Seek professional advice early.

Your feet might not always tell you something is wrong — so make checking them part of your daily routine. ❤️

👣 Parents — have you seen this feature on children’s shoes?
