What Happens During a Kinesiology Session?

Your first kinesiology session is all about you. Your practitioner will take the time to understand your medical and lifestyle history, helping to identify any specific concerns or areas of stress. Everything is done with your consent, and the goal is to support your overall well-being.

Using gentle muscle response testing, your kinesiologist will assess imbalances that may be affecting your health. You’ll stay fully clothed, and the process is completely non-invasive.

💡 A key thing to remember: Kinesiology isn’t about diagnosing or treating conditions—it’s about releasing stress! When the body is in balance, it can heal and function at its best.

During your session, you’ll be asked to place your arms, legs, or head in different positions while your practitioner applies light pressure to test muscle responses. This helps identify exactly what your body needs to restore balance.

Many people say they leave a session feeling lighter, more relaxed, with more energy and less pain or tension. Your kinesiologist may also offer tailored recommendations, such as dietary adjustments, nutritional support, relaxation techniques, or lifestyle changes, to help you maintain that balance.

Before you spend September looking after everyone else again…how are YOU feeling?

Maybe you’ve spent the summer putting everyone else first and you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, not sleeping well or simply a bit out of balance. The juggle is real - I do it myself so I can totally relate!

I always think September has a new year feel to it, new routines, maybe new schools or older ones leaving home - that’s a biggie!

Either way it’s a good time to pause, take a breath and check in with yourself.

Come and lie on my couch, switch off for a while and let’s see what your body has to say. 💚

You spend so much time looking after everyone else. It’s okay to put yourself on the list too.
I have appointments available in September for you, contact me to book yours.

This morning I popped down to support my friend Anne Marsh at her talk and book launch on Lipoedema and Lymphoedema. I had no idea there is so little help with these conditions, which is why Anne felt compelled to write her book.
Cornish Bliss with Claire Cornish also gave a demo on Manual Lymphatic Drainage and how you can help yourself to help your lymph.
Brilliant info shared by both ladies. If you couldn’t make it today but are interested they would love to hear from you!
There is help out there if you’re struggling with either of these conditions.

A recent client came for her 8th session, having completed two packages of four. She was feeling really good and wondered what we would work on today…don’t worry, we can always find something! 😄

🕵🏻‍♀️ We ended up having a fascinating ‘Health Detective’ session!

🕵🏻‍♀️ Where is the body out of balance?
🕵🏻‍♀️ Are there vitamins or minerals that are deficient?
🕵🏻‍♀️ Or is there an excess of something? Sometimes having too much of one mineral can create a deficiency in another, which is exactly what we found.
It’s all about balance and the ratios between them.

🕵🏻‍♀️ Using kinesiology, I was able to test various vitamins and minerals to see which were in balance and which weren’t.

🕵🏻‍♀️ I don’t guess or follow a one-size-fits-all approach. I test for what your body needs and follow the clues from there. The body is constantly giving little clues; we just need to know how to listen and interpret them.

It was a truly fascinating session and a great reminder that there’s always another layer to work on.
Being able to work with her regularly over several sessions has allowed us to support lasting change and peel back the layers to support what the body needs at that point in time.

When someone comes for multiple sessions like this, it’s like solving a puzzle 🧩

I just had to share this feedback from a client who came in for session 3 of her 4-session package today.

“I noticed some changes after the first session, but after the second one, things really started to shift. The fatigue is so much better, I’m functioning more in the day, I sleep better, I really feel like I’ve turned a corner”
Some of her physical symptoms (which I’m deliberately not sharing) had also improved.

It’s something I see quite often.
Our symptoms usually whisper to us first, so by the time they’re shouting at us and we actually seek help they’ve been developing for quite some time. It makes sense that we can’t address all the imbalances in a single session.

The first session is often about finding where the biggest imbalances are and beginning to restore balance. Once those foundations are in place, the body is often in a much better position to respond, which is why people sometimes notice bigger changes after the second or third appointment.

Everyone is different, and there’s no guarantee of how quickly someone will notice changes, but this is one of the reasons I offer a 4-session package. It gives your body the opportunity to build on each session, rather than expecting everything to happen in a single visit.

I love receiving client feedback and this is a lovely reminder that small steps really can add up to big changes.

Happy Sunday. 🌿
Whether today is a day of slowing down or a day of chasing around after family (I’ll be doing the latter! ⚽️), I hope you find a few moments just for yourself.

We spend so much of our lives looking after everyone else that it’s easy to forget our own wellbeing matters too.

Whatever today looks like for you, I hope it leaves you feeling just a little more balanced than yesterday.
Have a lovely Sunday. ☀️
