☀️ Here comes the sun… doo da doo doo!

As the warmer weather arrives, make the most of your summer by staying sun safe.

A few simple steps can help you enjoy the sunshine while protecting your health:

🌡️ Keep out of the sun during the hottest part of the day, between 11am and 3pm
💧 Drink plenty of water and limit alcohol
🏃 Plan physical activity for cooler times, such as early morning or evening
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
🧢 Wear suitable clothing, a hat and sunglasses, seek shade, and use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and 4-star UVA protection
👋 Check in on family, friends and neighbours, especially those who may be at higher risk during hot weather

If you are concerned about your health or someone else’s during hot weather, visit 111.nhs.uk for advice.

Please remember to order your repeat prescriptions in good time.

This is especially important before weekends and bank holidays, as GP practice and pharmacy opening times may vary.

You can usually request repeat medication through the NHS App or your practice’s usual prescription process.

Ordering early helps avoid running out of your regular medication.

Next week is Dementia Action Week.

Memory problems, confusion, changes in mood, or difficulty with everyday tasks can happen for many reasons. They do not always mean dementia, but it is important to seek advice if symptoms are new, ongoing, or causing concern.

If you are worried about yourself or someone else, please contact your GP practice for advice.

Early conversations can help people get the right support.
