Modern life is neurologically demanding. We’re moving faster, juggling more and becoming increasingly disconnected from the natural rhythms that once shaped our lives.

There was a time when knowing which plants to turn to for our wellbeing was simply part of everyday life – herbs and mushrooms were woven into teas, broths and food. Much of that connection may have been lost, but the plants haven’t changed. 🌿

I didn’t set out to start a supplement brand. I just wanted to sleep!

I’ve struggled with sleep all my life and was always looking for something natural that could genuinely help. That search led me to adaptogens – plants and mushrooms that have been used for centuries to support us through the stresses of life.

I became fascinated by them.

But as a graphic designer, I was also struck by how inaccessible the whole world felt. It seemed either very clinical and complicated, or a little too “woo”.

I kept thinking: why couldn’t we take this ancient plant wisdom and make it relevant to modern life?

That little seed of an idea brought three very different people together.

Me – curious, creative and convinced there had to be a more accessible way to introduce people to adaptogens.

Schia, our Medical Herbalist, who brought her incredible knowledge of plants, herbal medicine and formulation.

And Mark – my husband, co-founder, sounding board and problem solver, who helped turn all those ideas flying around in my head into something real.

Somewhere between the three of us, The Herbtender was born - because we believed there was a better way to help people discover the extraordinary potential of plants.
