This Volunteers' Week, we're celebrating the organisations and people helping to strengthen communities across Wales.

A big thank you to one of our supporters, WCVA, for championing connection, community and wellbeing through their work - including Gofod3, Wales' voluntary sector conference.

Cardiff City Stadium
17 June

Registration is now open, bringing together people from across Wales' voluntary sector to share ideas, celebrate impact and strengthen connections

Because community matters - and so do the people helping it thrive.

This month at Hapus we're talking about connection.

Connection can look like a catch-up with a friend, time with family, a walk with someone you trust - or simply feeling part of something bigger.

Throughout June, we'll be sharing reminders and ideas around how connection can support our wellbeing.

Wales is full of places that help us slow down and reset.

A beach. A forest path. A mountain view. Your local park. Even your own garden.

Where's your favourite place to pause and recharge?

Share your favourite spot below - you might inspire someone else to get outside this week.

We’re excited to be working with several artists and Arts Council Wales on a new collection of short films - bringing personal stories to life from communities across Wales, exploring how people look after their mental wellbeing. These films encourage us all to consider what supports our own mental wellbeing and inspire us to take action.

This short film offers a first look at the work — keep an eye out for more news from the Hapus team, and visit hapus.wales to find what works for you to support your mental wellbeing.

Feeling overwhelmed?

You don't need to completely reset your life overnight. Sometimes a small pause can help create a little breathing space.

A short walk, fresh air, sitting quietly outside for five minutes.

Gentle moments still matter.

Spending time by the coast can help us slow down, clear our minds and feel more connected to the world around us. There's something about being near the sea that many of us naturally find calming.

Wales is full of beautiful beaches and coastal spots - and we'd love to know yours favourite.

What's your favourite beach in Wales and why?

Connection doesn't always have to be loud or complicated.

Sometimes it looks like:
- A walk with someone you love
- Sitting together outside
- A conversation in the fresh air
- Sharing a quiet moments in nature

Little moments of connection can still make a big difference to how we feel.

Looking after your wellbeing doesn’t need to be expensive or time-consuming. Often, some of the most powerful things for our minds and bodies are already around us.

Sunlight. Fresh air. Movement. Rest. Nature. Presence.

Wellbeing can be simpler than we might think.💭

When life feels overwhelming, grounding (or earthing) can help bring us back to the present moment.

Studies show that the connection can help rebalance the body and promote restoration - supporting our overall health and wellbeing.

So next time you're at the beach, walking through a park or standing on the grass, try taking off your shoes for a moment and reconnecting with the earth beneath your feet.

Let's turn the world green for good mental health!

Today we are reminded that mental health matters every day - it's about starting conversations, showing support and helping people feel less alone.

Whether you're wearing a splash of green, checking in with someone you care about or taking a moment for your own wellbeing today, it all counts!
