🌿 You Don't Need to Be Broken to Benefit from Breathwork 🌿

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:

"Breathwork is only for people who are stressed, anxious, or struggling."

The truth is, breathwork is for everyone.

Your breathing affects every system in your body. The way you breathe influences:

✨ Your energy levels
✨ Your sleep quality
✨ Your ability to focus
✨ How quickly you recover from stress
✨ Your emotional resilience
✨ Your athletic performance
✨ Your overall sense of wellbeing

Most of us go through life breathing on autopilot, never realising that small changes in our breathing patterns can create profound changes in how we feel.

As both a Masters swimmer and SOMA Breath Master Instructor, I've experienced firsthand how conscious breathing can help us stay calm under pressure, recover more effectively, and approach challenges with greater confidence.

The best part?

You don't need hours of practice.

Even 5 minutes of intentional breathing can help shift your nervous system from "survival mode" into a state where your body can rest, recover, and perform at its best.

Today, take a moment to check in with your breath.

Is it fast or slow?
Shallow or deep?
Smooth or restricted?

Your breath is constantly giving you clues about what your mind and body need.

Learning to listen to it might be one of the most powerful skills you'll ever develop.

πŸ’› Have you ever noticed how your breathing changes when you're stressed, excited, nervous, or calm? I'd love to hear your experiences below.

Are You Breathing Enough to Feel Your Best?

Most people never think about their breathing.

Yet every breath you take influences your energy, stress levels, sleep, focus, emotions, and even how your body copes with life's challenges.

Many of us spend our days breathing quickly and shallowly without realising it. Over time, this can leave us feeling tired, overwhelmed, anxious, and disconnected from ourselves.

The good news?

Small changes can create powerful results.

That's exactly why I've created the 5-5-5 WhatsApp Breathwork Challenge, starting on 22nd June.

The response to this challenge has been incredible already, and I'd love you to join us.

For just 5 minutes a day, for 5 days, you'll learn a simple breathing practice that can help you:

✨ Feel calmer and more in control
✨ Improve focus and mental clarity
✨ Increase energy naturally
✨ Sleep more deeply
✨ Build resilience to everyday stress

No previous experience is needed.

You'll receive daily guidance through WhatsApp, making it easy to fit into even the busiest schedule.

For less than the cost of a coffee, you could learn a tool that supports your wellbeing for life.

πŸ’™ Investment: Β£5

The question isn't whether you have time.

The question is: Can you spare 5 minutes a day to invest in yourself?

Comment 5-5-5 or send me a message and I'll send you the details.

When I was on the way home from Aberdeen on Sunday night, I was reflecting, after competing at the British Masters Swimming Championships... and wow, what a weekend it was!

There were plenty of challenges along the way. Making it to the Aberdeen Aquatic Centre on time for racing on Saturday, ensuring I left in time on Sunday to catch the last train home (my schedule was VERY tight) and of course, focusing on being the very best swimmer I could be.

This weekend reminded me that stress is not our enemy. Chronic stress can be damaging, but in the right moments, stress helps us move mountains. It allows us to access energy, resilience, and strength we never knew we had.

As the "what ifs" started to creep in and my mind began planning for every worst-case scenario, I found myself turning to my favourite SOMA Breath meditations. From Invoking the Spirit of Your Higher Self to Becoming Limitless and Releasing Pain and Tension, I had the voice of Niraj Naik guiding me every step of the way.

Was I on edge at times? Absolutely.

But underneath it all, there was a QUIET KNOWING. A trust that I would get there on time, get home on time, and most importantly, be the best swimmer I could be this weekend despite everything else life has been throwing at me lately.

I'm still buzzing. I wish I could bottle this feeling.

But perhaps that's exactly what we do.

Our brains are incredible. Every experience creates an imprint. Every challenge we overcome strengthens our belief in ourselves. The doubts and worries will undoubtedly surface again in the future, but each time they return, they'll shout a little less loudly because I now have another piece of evidence that I can do hard things.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey over the past few weeks. Your support, encouragement, and belief in me have meant more than you know. ❀️

πŸš—βš‘ Recharge While You Charge βš‘πŸš—

A long drive to London this week to collect my youngest child from university and bring them home for the summer got me thinking...

How much time do we spend waiting during our journeys?

Whether it's charging an electric vehicle, stopping at a service station, waiting for someone, or simply taking a break from driving, most of us automatically reach for our phones.

What if we used that time differently?

What if waiting time became wellbeing time?

This question inspired me to create a new breathwork experience called:

⚑ Recharge While You Charge ⚑

A short guided breathwork journey designed to help you relax, reset, and recharge before continuing your journey.

Although the idea was originally inspired by EV drivers waiting for their vehicles to charge, I've realised it can benefit anyone taking a pause during a journey.

The first draft version is now live, and I'd love your help.

I'm looking for people to try it and give me some honest feedback.

πŸ’š How did you feel afterwards?
πŸ’š Would you use something like this during a journey?
πŸ’š What did you enjoy?
πŸ’š What could be improved?

You can listen here:
https://youtu.be/-6f3m2z_iSg

The feedback form is linked in the video description and only takes a few seconds to complete.

Thank you for helping me explore this idea. You never know where a simple thought might lead!
