π Could It Be More Than Just βA Bad Dayβ? Recognising the Signs of Depression π
Depression doesnβt always look like sadness.
Sometimes it looks like:
β« Feeling exhausted no matter how much you sleep
β« Losing interest in things you used to enjoy
β« Cancelling plans or avoiding people
β« Feeling numb, flat or disconnected
β« Irritability, frustration or feeling overwhelmed
β« Struggling to concentrate or make decisions
β« Changes in appetite or sleep patterns
β« Feeling guilty, hopeless or like a burden
β« Putting on a brave face while silently struggling
And sometimes⦠it simply looks like someone trying their best to get through the day.
Depression can affect anyone, at any age, and asking for help is never weakness. You do not have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out.
Please remember:
π± Itβs okay to not be okay
π± Healing isnβt linear
π± Talking really can help
π± You are not alone
If youβre struggling, please speak to someone you trust, your GP, or reach out for support. And if someone you care about seems βnot themselvesβ β check in. A simple βHow are you really?β can mean more than you realise.
Be kind to yourself and others β you never know what someone may be carrying silently. π
