Despite the rain, it was fantastic to see so many local businesses and partners come together to make new connections, enjoy breakfast prepared by our learners, and take a walk around the farm.

Billy has been continuing to enhance his skills on the main kitchen line, developing confidence in preparing food to the correct specifications while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

As part of his training, Billy has been building his ability to cook multiple meal components simultaneously, ensuring dishes are prepared and served on time so that all customers receive their meals together. This demonstrates excellent organisation, time management, and teamwork skills within a busy kitchen environment.

Recently, Billy assisted the chef in preparing a range of dishes, including:

🍽️ Scampi & Chips
🍽️ Hunter’s Chicken & Chips
🍽️ Fish & Chips

Alistair has been building his confidence through travel training 🚌

From reading bus timetables to safely navigating Chesterfield and making connections between buses, he's developing the skills needed to travel independently to his Supported Internship.

It was a pleasure to welcome David Mason and Lee Edwards from BaxterStorey to our Eckington site today. 👏

Alongside the WayFinder team, David and Lee toured the college grounds before getting stuck into the action in the Bistro, working alongside learners to help prepare today's lunch.

The visit continued at Apperknowle Farm, where they saw first-hand how learners grow and care for the ingredients used across our sites. 🌱

The day finished with lunch at The Archer, showcasing the incredible opportunities available to our learners. Thank you to David and Lee for taking the time to visit and learn more about the work taking place across Landmarks and WayFinder.
