Did you know we can deliver books, audiobooks, and more straight to your home?
Our Home Library Service is here for anyone who finds it difficult to visit the library – whether due to age, illness, disability, or caring responsibilities. It’s completely free, and our lovely volunteers bring carefully chosen items right to the door.

Even better – there are no fines, and you can keep items as long as you need.

🌱☕ Filey Sight & Hearing Loss Group ☕🌱

We’ll be meeting every Thursday at Filey Library for coffee, catch-ups, gardening, crafts, games, and much more!

📍 All sessions take place at Filey Library
⏰ 1pm–3pm

☕ 1st Thursday of every month
Join us inside Filey Library for a relaxed Coffee Afternoon with tea, coffee, games, crafts, conversation, and support.

🌿 2nd, 3rd & 4th Thursdays of every month
We’ll be outside in the library gardens for our new Gardening Group — growing plants, sharing produce, learning together, and enjoying the outdoors.

🍰 Tea, coffee, sweet treats will be provided at every meet.

Whether you’re living with sight loss, hearing loss, or both — or you’re a family member, carer, or volunteer — everyone is welcome to come along and join us! ✨

Deaf Awareness Week 2026

4th- 10th May 2026

“Right to Understand – Together, we break barriers.”

It’s about more than awareness — it’s about removing the everyday barriers that people with hearing loss still face and making communication accessible for everyone.

We’re proud to be working alongside North Yorkshire Police to host informal drop-in sessions where you can come along, ask questions, and learn more about deaf awareness, communication, and support:

Whether you’re curious, want to build confidence communicating, or just fancy a chat — you’re very welcome.
