Getting out into nature is always a good move and especially when your day needs a boost or reset…

It can be uplifting, meditative, and humbling…

Nature is vast and complex, sometimes controlled, sometimes entirely random, sometimes beautiful and sometimes brutal… just like life ❤️

It can be mega frustrating and scary when you’re dealing with a health condition…

But there’s usually a way to continue, or even start training….

(Always remember to check with your doctor or other health professional first though 😊)

I’ve been coaching for a couple of years now, sometimes I still feel like an imposter but then I remember how much I have to offer and the impact I’ve had on lots of clients already…

I’m Karen, almost 44, and I didn’t really start prioritising my own health and fitness until I hit 40. But f**k me I’m glad I did!

I went into mental health nursing at 17 and have 24yrs experience including general psychiatry, substance misuse, camhs, older adults and started my fitness journey whilst still working shifts so I get how hard that can feel! I also bring a lot of the skills I have from that career into my coaching… it’s all connected 🧠💪🏻

I’ve got 3 kids who right now are 21, 15 and 8, my husband also has 2 and we sometimes have my other step kids to stay… our house can be absolute chaos at times.. so I get that too!

I’ve been through a fair bit in life, as most of us have, divorce, navigating single parenthood, losing my mum to cancer and loads of other💩so I know life rarely goes smoothly and sometimes it feels almost impossible to prioritise yourself but it can be done

Right now I’m dealing with a chronic health condition (adenomyosis) which I’ve had a few years but has progressed a lot recently and am planning for a hysterectomy, I have to adjust my expectations and training around that right now, I really believe that working on my strength and fitness over the recent years is making this easier to deal with and hopefully it will allow a better recovery.

Since my late teens I’ve had the tendency to be quite anxious, I hide it well! But that is exhausting too. I’ve had periods where this has felt quite debilitating and have been on and off medication since my mid 20s, now I’m not saying that there’s never a need for medication and at times it’s taken the edge off things to allow me to function but for me the impact regular training and lifestyle changes have had has been way bigger than any benefits meds have given me - I am not anti medication this is just my experience

Building strength and fitness has not always been easy but it has 💯 improved my life and I am soo passionate to help others feel it too!
