🌟 Exciting News! 🌟
Bollyfit Active CIC with Calderdale College are offering a FREE Womens Wellness Programme.

Open to all.
Inspire Centre, Calderdale College, Halifax.
Every Sunday at 10.30 to 12.30

Why do we believe Bollyfit belongs on every street corner? ❤️

Today gave us the answer again.

We began our 12-week BELONG Through Movement programme in Halifax, in partnership with Calderdale College.

And we started with one question:

WHO ARE YOU?

Beyond being a mother, wife, daughter, carer or professional…

Who are YOU?

Bollyfit has never been just about exercise.

Our vision of being on every street corner isn't about putting a fitness class everywhere.

It's about creating trusted, welcoming spaces for women within their own communities — spaces where women can move, connect, laugh, build confidence, be heard and belong.

Our Founder, Shamime, came home from Halifax today deeply moved by the experience. Another reminder of just how much spaces like these are needed.

What if women didn't have to search for somewhere they felt they belonged?
What if it was already waiting for them in their own community?

That's the future we're working towards.

By training and developing women as Bollyfit coaches, what we have built and learned alongside our Manchester communities can travel — while keeping the trust, warmth and human connection at its heart.

A huge thank you to Calderdale College for trusting us with this journey.

And a very special thank you to our Manchester Bollyfit women who made the journey to Halifax with us today. You didn't just come along — you brought the warmth, energy and sense of community that has been built over many years in Manchester and helped another group of women feel welcomed from day one. ❤️

One community at a time.
One coach at a time.
One woman at a time.

Until women don't have to search for somewhere they belong.

It's already there.

💙 Are you an unpaid carer?

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. That's why we're sharing information about Share2Care – WYICB, a free app created to support unpaid carers across West Yorkshire.

The app helps you keep important information together, share it securely with trusted people, and create a digital contingency plan that can be linked to your NHS record if needed. You can also be identified as an unpaid carer within the Yorkshire & Humber Care Record, helping ensure the right information is available when it matters most.

For added security, you simply sign in using your NHS App login.

If you or someone you know provides unpaid care for a loved one, why not take a look?

📱 Find out more and download the app here:

Have you received your NHS bowel cancer screening kit? Also known as a FIT kit!

Bowel cancer screening is a simple test that you can complete in the comfort of your own home. It helps detect bowel cancer early, often before symptoms develop, when treatment is more likely to be successful.

If you’ve been invited to take part, please don’t ignore it. Completing and returning your kit could make all the difference.

For more information, speak to a member of our practice team or visit the NHS website.

What is an at-home test and how does it work? 🤔

At-home tests can be a key part of early diagnosis, here’s what you need to know.

What is an at-home test?
- A poo test, called a faecal immunochemical test (FIT, also known as qFIT)
- Checks for traces of blood in your poo
- Easily done at home

How to do the test?
- Read the instructions, check your details on the label, and have a clean container ready.
- Collect a small amount of poo using the test stick and close the lid securely.
- Put the test in the envelope, wash your hands, and return it as soon as possible.

What happens next?
1. Your poo sample is sent to a lab for testing
2. If blood is found in your poo, you will be offered further tests to find out what’s causing it.
3. If your symptoms persist you should speak to your GP, even if your test is negative

A positive test doesn’t always mean you have bowel cancer. Bleeding can be caused by a non-cancerous growth (polyp) or another health condition.

If you have symptoms, speak to your GP about an at-home test.
