If, like me, you’re a parent of someone embarking on exams this week — whether that’s GCSEs, BTECs, A-levels or SATs — firstly, I’m sending you a huge hug. It can be such an emotional rollercoaster for everyone involved!
I’m currently seeing a few students for Reflexology, and so many have said how helpful it’s been to step away from revision for a while, have a brain break that doesn’t involve a screen or a book, and experience a much-needed hour of calm. Reflexology helps calm both the body and mind, easing stress and anxiety, soothing nerves, and giving them the chance to properly switch off for a little while
At this stage, all we can really do is support them as best we can — making sure they’re eating well, drinking plenty of water, getting fresh air, taking regular breaks, and getting enough sleep. (I also have rescue remedies dotted all around the house!)
But while we focus on supporting them, it’s easy to forget the pressure parents and carers are carrying too. If emotions are running high at home, chances are you’re absorbing far more stress than you realise.
Reflexology is incredibly supportive for parents too — helping to calm heightened emotions, reduce stress levels, and restore a little patience and balance during a demanding few weeks.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, tired of being the punch bag or simply in need of some calm amongst the chaos, now is the perfect time to book yourself in. Just drop me a message for availability.
