The new pitch at Derry City's Brandywell Stadium is progressing well through its grow-in phase, with AccuPro 360ST spreaders recently used to apply ProTurf controlled-release fertiliser as part of the establishment programme.

Accurate and consistent application plays an important role during establishment, helping to encourage even turf development and create a strong, uniform surface. The reliable spread patterns delivered by the AccuPro 360ST help support this process by promoting even product application across the pitch.

These periods of high temperatures and dry weather that we have been seeing in the UK & Ireland can place significant pressure on managed turf surfaces.

Syngenta Turf UK and Ireland's Ryder is a concentrated turf pigment designed to enhance turf colour and visual presentation, while helping reduce stress caused by excessive light intensity and UV exposure during challenging summer conditions.

Suitable for inclusion within summer turf management programmes across a range of fine turf surfaces.

As temperatures increase, maintaining consistent soil moisture across turf surfaces can become more challenging, particularly on areas prone to localised dry patch.

H2Pro TriSmart uses a combination of three surfactant technologies designed to support water infiltration, retention and movement through the soil profile. This can help turf managers maintain more even moisture distribution during warmer and drier periods.

Independent fairway research from the NIBIO Turfgrass Research Center in Norway has highlighted the performance of different wetting agent technologies under prolonged drought stress in cool-season turf.

The two-year trial found that our H2Pro TriSmart achieved the lowest irrigation water requirement, including a 22% reduction in irrigation water use versus untreated turf during severe drought conditions in 2024. Qualibra recorded the highest visual turf quality scores during the harshest stages of drought stress.

Our International Technical Manager Dr. Andy Owen continues to explore the benefits of the MTU® & pidolic acid biostimulant package, found in Greenmaster Liquid Advance.

In a recent trial, treated seedlings developed longer, deeper, and more branched roots compared to untreated plants during early establishment.

While there was no visible difference above ground, the difference below ground was significant.

Improved rooting during establishment helps young plants access water and nutrients more effectively, supporting stronger and more resilient turf development.
