Supporting our customers with technical knowledge and practical insight is an important part of what we do. That’s why we’ve launched PitchFocus, our new winter sports pitch management newsletter.

PitchFocus has been created for our customers to provide bi-monthly access to technical articles, case studies, and practical insights from our expert technical team. Content will focus on the topics that matter most to sports turf managers, including renovations, nutrition programmes, root development, moisture management and long term pitch performance.

By bringing together technical expertise and real world experiences from across the industry, PitchFocus aims to help our customers stay informed and support decision making throughout the season.

We're looking forward to exhibiting at TurfTech Summit 2026 tomorrow at the American Express Stadium, Brighton, where turf professionals, grounds managers and industry specialists will come together to discuss technology, innovation and practical approaches to turf management.

As part of the conference, our International Technical Manager, Dr Simon Watson, will be delivering a presentation exploring the science behind Greenmaster Liquid Advance, including its development and role in supporting turf resilience under challenging conditions.

Last week, we welcomed turf professionals from across the UK to Turf Science Live 2026 at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The event, in partnership with Syngenta Turf UK and Ireland was designed to provide practical insight into the challenges facing modern turf management, with a strong focus on research, technology and real world application.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. From technical presentations and pitch-side sessions to live demonstrations, the event provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, discuss current industry challenges and explore developments in turf health, stress management and performance.

We would also like to thank our guest speakers Craig Knight, Jon Howell from Everton Football Club & Glenn Kirby from STRI Group for sharing their expertise and helping to deliver a valuable day of learning.

We're exhibiting at GroundsFest and supporting the BIGGA education programme with a presentation from Phil Collinson.

On Wednesday 16 September at 2pm in Hall 1, Phil will present "Change your turf's response to stress", exploring practical approaches to managing stress and supporting turf health under challenging conditions.

Turf stress remains one of the key challenges facing turf managers, with factors such as heat, drought, wear and intensive maintenance all influencing playing surface performance throughout the season.

Pitch Focus Ireland will take place on 26th September 2026 at MacHale Park, the 2026 GAA National Pitch of the Year.

Pitch Focus includes sessions covering nutrition programmes, grass seed selection, moisture management, aeration, overseeding and topdressing, alongside opportunities to discuss common challenges with industry specialists.

The day will also feature outdoor demonstrations and a showcase of maintenance equipment from Killeen Sports Grounds.

How are golf courses preparing for the challenges and opportunities of autumn turf management?

That was the focus of our recent breakfast meeting at Batchworth Park Golf Club, hosted by our own Martyn Parrish and Pete May from Syngenta Turf UK and Ireland.

Bringing together turf managers from 15 golf clubs, the event focused on setting the course for autumn success, with discussions covering autumn Integrated Turf Management (ITM), fairway recovery following recent drought conditions, overseeding considerations, and the role of longer-term planning in adapting to changing environmental conditions.

The combination of technical presentations, open discussion and on-course observation provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing between turf professionals facing many of the same seasonal challenges.

Thank you to Batchworth Park Golf Club for hosting and to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions.
