πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Day 2 - Spanish Study Tour

Following our R&D Day, the team visited farms in northern Spain and continued the conversation around some of the key challenges and opportunities facing dairy producers.

There were some great discussions and plenty of ideas shared around different forage strategies, transition management, heat stress abatement, and more.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Spanish Study Tour

Last week, the team were kindly hosted by Zinpro at their Innovation Center in Spain. It’s the second of their global innovation centres, the first being located in Minnesota.

Dr. Arturo Gomez presented some of the latest breakthroughs from Zinpro, alongside Dr. Riccardo Bevilacqua, who also showed the team around the wet and dry labs.

There were some interesting discussions around gastrointestinal and rumen digestion, sustainability, microbiology and fermentation, as well as how the latest research can translate into practical benefits for livestock producers.

If you’d like to hear more about our visit and how this research could relate to improving performance on your dairy unit, just pop us a message with your contact details and we’ll add you to our mailing list.

A special thank you to Emma Millar at Zinpro for organising the trip.

➑️ We are hosting a webinar where the project team will be presenting findings on the distribution and origin of mycotoxins in grass silage clamps and their effects on the dairy cow and what practical steps can be taken to help decrease mycotoxins in the clamp.

πŸ„ Attention to detail in the early days really does pay off!

Last year's heifers are ahead of schedule at this block calving herd in Cornwall. Already bulling, due to be served in November. We should see some great conception rates, contributing to a tight block for next year.
