This September team Medneo are lacing up their trainers to walk 100 miles for Prostate Cancer Research!

We see every day the difference early detection and timely diagnosis can make to patient outcomes, so this cause feels close to home. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, and research plays a vital role in improving diagnosis, treatment, and survival rates. By taking on this challenge, we're not only encouraging healthy habits and team spirit, but also helping to fund research that can make a real difference to patients and their families.

We will be walking, jogging, shuffling and skipping through September to each get to our 100 mile mark; sharing our progress, cheering each other on, and raising as much as we can along the way. Every donation, big or small, helps fund the vital work of Prostate Cancer Research.

We’ve had a lot of interest in David Grant’s story. During a routine check, a heart valve issue was identified before it had started causing symptoms. He was able to receive treatment and is now recovering well.

Stories like David’s show how proactive health checks can provide valuable insight into your health, even when you’re feeling well. For many people, regular screening offers reassurance and an opportunity to take action early if needed.

Most serious conditions don't announce themselves. 👆
Diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease can all creep up quietly, with no obvious warning signs, until they become something much harder to treat.

That's exactly why health screening matters. It's not just about finding problems. It's about staying ahead of them.

Early detection gives you and your clinician the chance to act before things progress. And that makes all the difference to long term outcomes.

Listen to Dr Sen, Medneo GP Partner, explain why. 👇

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK, with around 48,000 people diagnosed each year. Many aren't caught until the disease has already reached a later stage, which is why knowing the signs and getting checked early matters so much.

Smoking is the single greatest risk factor, but others include family history, exposure to substances like asbestos or radon, and existing lung conditions. Not everyone who develops lung cancer has smoked.

Lung cancer can grow silently for months, sometimes years, before it's large enough to cause any symptoms. By the time symptoms appear, it may already be more advanced.

This is why regular screening matters: Screening can catch lung cancer early, often before symptoms start.

Common symptoms to watch for:
• A persistent cough lasting three weeks or more
• Breathlessness for no clear reason
• Repeated chest infections
• Unexplained weight loss or loss of appetite
• Coughing up blood
• Ongoing tiredness
• Chest or shoulder pain

If you notice any of these in yourself or someone close to you, please don't ignore them. The earlier you catch it, the easier it is to treat.

If you're interested in health screening, where cancers and other illnesses can be caught at an early stage, or simply to give you peace of mind, we offer a range of health screening options designed to help people live healthier lives.

Medneo UK London invests by adding Deep Resolve.

We're delighted to announce the installation of Siemens Healthineers Deep Resolve technology on our Siemens 3T MRI scanner at Medneo London.

This upgrade brings advanced deep learning reconstruction and accelerated imaging to our MRI service, helping us deliver sharper, high-quality images while creating opportunities for faster examinations and enhanced patient experience.

Siemens Healthineers' own data shows Deep Resolve can boost scan speed by up to 73% when combined with parallel imaging techniques, without compromising image clarity.

For our patients, that means shorter time in the scanner and consistently high-quality diagnostic imaging. For our clinical partners, it strengthens our ability to deliver efficient, advanced MRI services across a broad range of examinations.

A fantastic investment in our imaging capability, and another important step in the continued development of Medneo's diagnostic services.

With the summer holidays in full flow, it's worth taking a few minutes to check your skin.

During our holidays, we tend to expose our skin to more intense UV, increasing the risk of melanoma. Checking your moles beforehand gives you a baseline, so when you return it's much easier to notice anything that has changed, appeared or grown.

Read through the ABCDE of melanoma and don't forget the areas that are easy to miss: the scalp, back, between the toes and the soles of the feet.

If you're unsure about anything you find, or simply want peace of mind before you travel, Medneo London on Great Portland Street offers professional mole check clinics, including walk in appointments every Monday.

Cardiac MRI or CT?
If you've ever been referred for heart imaging and wondered why one test was chosen over the other, here's a quick explainer:

Cardiac MRI builds pictures using magnets and radio waves rather than radiation. It gives a detailed view of the heart's structure and how it's functioning, which makes it especially useful for looking at the heart muscle itself.

Cardiac CT uses X-rays to create a 3D image of the heart and its arteries, so it does involve exposure to radiation. It's a faster scan and is particularly good at detecting calcium build-up or blockages in the coronary arteries.

CT scans tend to be quicker and quieter too. They can be a suitable option for people who cannot have an MRI scan, such as if you have certain types of metal implants.

Neither test is better than the other. They simply answer different questions, and your GP will suggest the most suitable scan for you and your condition or concern. They'll help you understand why they recommend it, what to expect, and the risks and benefits.
