We were delighted to welcome a delegation from the Cayman Islands Government Office UK to Action on Disability (AoD) this morning.
The delegation included the Hon. Rolston M. Anglin JP, Minister for Finance and Economic Development and Minister for Education and Training, together with senior government officials and school leaders, who visited AoD to learn more about our approach to independent living, inclusive employment, training, and community participation.
Throughout the morning, we shared how disabled people's lived experience shapes our work through co-production and leadership. Discussions covered independent living, choice and control, Direct Payments, personal assistants, supported internships, disability equality training, workforce development, and our community programmes, Our Place and Our Voice.
This was the fifth overseas government delegation to visit AoD in the past two years, following visits from Ukraine, South Korea, Japan, and other international partners. We are proud that AoD continues to attract international interest in disability rights, independent living, and inclusion.
Thank you to the Cayman Islands delegation for visiting AoD and for the valuable exchange of ideas and experiences.
