📖 Help us create the Our Place Community Book!

We’re creating a special community book at Our Place, kindly funded by the Daisy Trust, and we’d love for as many people as possible to get involved.

You can contribute anything meaningful to you — a story, poem, reflection, memory, or something completely different.

✍️ How to contribute:

• Handwrite your contribution and we’ll type it up for you

• Type it and send it directly to us

Your contributions will be brought together into themes, published in our community book, and sold to help raise funds for Our Place.

If you’d like to take part or have any questions, please get in touch at [email protected]

We can’t wait to hear your stories and ideas! 🌟

Last Wednesday, some of Our Place members had a fantastic day at Lord’s Cricket Ground Lord's Cricket Ground as part of the Disability Cricket Festival!
We had the opportunity to watch a visually impaired cricket demonstration, take a tour around the iconic grounds, and get involved in some fun cricket games ourselves.
It was a brilliant day of sport, inclusion and trying something new.
If you’d like to get involved in future activities and trips with Our Place, please contact [email protected].

Our In-Work Support Service continues to help Disabled people start, stay and thrive in paid employment. 💙

Through dedicated In-Work Support Workers, individuals receive tailored workplace support to develop confidence, build skills and become more independent, while employers are supported to create more inclusive workplaces.

Since the service began, our team has delivered over 38,000 hours of workplace support and secured over £1 million in Access to Work funding, enabling Disabled employees across London to access the support they need to succeed at work.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress our clients continue to make. 🙌

New Self-Directed Support Service 🎉

We’re pleased to announce that AoD has been awarded a 3-year contract, extendable to 5 years, by Hammersmith & Fulham Council to deliver the Self-Directed Support Service.

Previously known as the Direct Payments Support Service, we provide free support to help residents make the most of their Personal Budgets and choose the support that works for them.

We can help with advice and guidance, finding providers and Personal Assistants, managing Personal Budgets, training and peer support, and working with Adult Social Care.

The service is available to Personal Budget holders, people considering self-directed support, carers, authorised or nominated persons, some under-18s, and residents living outside the borough with an H&F Personal Budget.

Our Self-Directed Support Service team will continue supporting local residents. 💙

If you or someone you know could benefit from the service, please get in touch with us by contacting [email protected]
