Our client came into The Laser Base because sheā€™d had enough of the shaving, irritation and ingrown hairs, and wanted to find out if laser could actually help.

Jenny talked her through how laser hair removal works, the technology we use, what to expect from my results and whether her skin and hair were suitable.

We also went through her medical history and all the pre and post-treatment advice, before doing a patch test on every area she wanted treating.

Smooth for longer? Yes.
Enjoyable? Absolutely not.

You have to grow the hair out, endure the pain and keep repeating the cycle.

And despite what you might hear, waxing doesnā€™t permanently reduce the hair.

Our verdict: effective, but weā€™re not exactly rushing back.

HAIR REMOVAL CREAMS: 0ā€“2/10 šŸ§“

Painless? Usually.
Pleasant? Thatā€™s another question. šŸ˜‚

The smell.
The timer.

The panic when you realise youā€™ve left it on for 30 seconds too longā€¦

Fine for an emergency. Not exactly our first choice.

One of the girls literally gave it -1/10.
Need we say more?

It removes the hair, but pulling hairs out one by one isā€¦ a commitment.

Effective? Yes.
Would we choose it? Absolutely not.

The easiest option? Probably.

The longest-lasting? Definitely not. šŸ˜‚

Hereā€™s where things get a little more complicatedā€¦
IPL isnā€™t the same as professional laser.

At-home devices use lower-energy, scattered light, so results can take much longer and arenā€™t the same for everyone.

Some people absolutely do see hair reduction ā€” but itā€™s important to know what youā€™re actually buying.

We often see clients who try at home IPL tend to give up quickly and switch to laser hair removal for better results!

I cannot recommend this enough, and it is all thanks to Georgina! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel completely welcome and at ease. Laser hair removal can sometimes feel a bit intimidating or awkward, but Georgina is incredibly personable and warm. I felt entirely comfortable throughout the entire session. She is professional, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about her clients' comfort and results. The space is spotless, the treatment was smooth, and the customer service is unmatched.
