🩸 Vascular Disease Awareness

This month, we’re raising awareness of vascular disease and the importance of looking after your circulation.

🚶‍♀️ Leg pain when walking that improves with rest?
🦶 Cold, numb or discoloured feet?
🩹 Wounds that are slow to heal?

These can be signs of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD). Don’t ignore the symptoms — submit an Anima if you’re concerned.

❤️ You can help protect your vascular health by staying active, not smoking, eating well and keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol under control.

🔗 Find out more on the NHS website:

Read about peripheral arterial disease (PAD), a common condition in which a build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries restricts blood supply to leg muscles.

💜 31 August – International Overdose Awareness Day 💜
Today we recognise International Overdose Awareness Day, a global campaign to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose, support those affected, and help reduce the stigma surrounding substance use.
Overdose can affect anyone, regardless of age or background. By raising awareness, encouraging open conversations and helping people access support, we can save lives.
If you or someone you know is struggling with drug or alcohol use, help is available. Speaking to your GP is a positive first step, and there are confidential local and national support services that can help.
Useful sources of information and support include:

💜 We Are With You – https://www.wearewithyou.org.uk/
💚 FRANK – https://www.talktofrank.com/
If someone is unconscious, not breathing normally, or you think they may have overdosed, call 999 immediately.

Find out everything you need to know about drugs, their effects and the law. Talk to Frank for facts, support and advice on drugs and alcohol today. | FRANK

🌟 We’re proud to be recognised as a Carer Friendly Practice! 🌟

We’re delighted to have been recognised by Suffolk Family Carers as a Carer Friendly Practice. 💙

We know that caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it can also bring challenges. We’re committed to recognising and supporting unpaid carers and making sure they know what support is available.

As part of this, we can:
📋 Provide a carer’s pack with useful information and support
💻 Flag your carer status on your medical record, helping us recognise your role and consider your needs when providing care
🩺 Soon, we’ll also be offering carer health checks, giving carers an opportunity to discuss their own health and wellbeing and access appropriate support.

If you’re an unpaid carer and would like to be recognised as a carer at the practice, please speak to a member of our team or email in [email protected]
