I decided today to count up how many sessions I have had this academic year so far as we still have a few more weeks to go.

As I only work 3 days a week currently and two of those days are in schools so only the term time I hadn't considered it would be quite so many!

200+ sessions!!

200 hours that gave children the chance to have the crucial power and control option that they cannot have anywhere else in their lives.

200 hours that allowed children unconditional positive regard and no judgment with anything and everything they choose to bring or not bring into the room.

200 hours of getting to re-experience their experiences and see it from a different light or rework it to see how it might have been.

200 hours of evening fully seen and appreciated for all their parts they bring.

200 hours getting to do the job I love and so excited to add two more days to my schedule in September!

Did something new today. I was interviewed for the Global radio family (capital FM, smooth, and heart FM) to talk about the importance of play as tomorrow is the UNs international day of play. Will be played tomorrow and will be able to replay on the Global radio website.

Yesterday, I attended a brilliant safeguarding training put on by PIP Solutions. Having attended Safeguarding training nearly every year of my career I was not expecting to as much new and helpful information as I did with this one.

As this one was presented specifically for play therapists it really made safeguarding even more relevant, important and eye opening for things to be aware of, look out for and another boost in my convictions when pushing safeguarding issues with parents and schools.

CPD is so important and yes sessions had to be cancelled for me to attend this training but it means your kiddos are even safer, protected understood and cared for when in my playroom.

Thank you so much to PIP SOLUTIONS for putting this training on and continuing to support play therapists to be at their best!
