If anyone has an old sleeping bag/s please drop me a message. I’ll be collecting all this month and will drop them all off at the end of Sept

We're all out of sleeping bags! A sleeping bag is no replacment for a warm, safe, bed but it can enable you to sn**ch an hour or so of sleep when you're sleeping on the street.
If you have any old sleeping bags you're don't use or are able to shop online and donate one to the Ark, our lients would be extremely grateful for the comfort this vital piece of kit can bring.
Please deliver to 32 Castle Foregate, Shrewsbury, SY1 2EH Mon-Fri 9am-4pm.
Thank you.

There’s something for everyone right now!!

Tomorrow we kick off the new Monthly Rehab Clinics and you and your dog/s can come say hello at Woofterz DOG Grooming 11-3. Plus pay for your first session and get 10% off, book a block of 6 for the price of 5 and there’s also a little something for the puppers to take home too, courtesy of Antler Chew Wholesale Limited

Then tomorrow is the final day to get an additional x2 Prep Calls for FREE as part of the Physio First Summer Sessions, which includes face to face sessions, exercise programs, nutritions and mental wellness support plus a lovely treatment to finish it all off 🥰

And finally not forgetting our little tribe members either. With the new school year fast approaching and with that the flurry of EHCPs, there’s some different options available to help you get the best available support for your kids. Whether that’s a full assessment and report, the report itself (only if your child is already known to me) or a block of sessions, we can figure out together what your kids need. And if funding is an issue, I can help you access that too.

Does your child have or need an EHCP? Does your child have a health condition that requires Physiotherapy?

While your NHS physio will often write a report for an annual review, it will usually only outline their provision and what is expected from school.

Private physios take the holistic approach. We look at the whole person:
🌟What are the challenges? how they move, what skills they have
🌟What will help? Exercise program, stretches, AFOs, Specialist Equipment, Hydrotherapy …
🌟Who should be providing what: and this is where it can get tetchy. I’m not interested in what a local service can provide, I’m just saying whether something needs to be carried out by a qualified physio, a parent/carer, a TA at school.

The finer details (and pushback) usually comes at this point. Local services say we can’t provide it. That’s fair, small teams with even smaller budgets. Then technically the responsibility comes down to the Local Authority to provide funding for that.

But parents don’t know this. They get their report from their NHS physio that says we can provide x,y,z it doesn’t mention anything else because their service doesn’t provide it. Because nothing else is mentioned, Local Authorities don’t provide anything else and that’s it, that’s your lot.

BUT the Local Authorities have to consider ALL professional guidance and recommendations and that means from a private physio too, and that’s where I come in.

So if you need support for child/young persons EHCP, you have every right to seek assistance from a private physio and you can absolutely submit their report.

And I get it, yes there’s a cost and a lot of people are really struggling right now but I can help with that too.

I offer a fixed rate process. One price for an assessment (up to 90mins) and another for the report. If I already know your child well, then we can keep the costs lower. If this is still out of reach for you, I can point you in the direction of how to access charitable funding for private physio. You’ll need a letter for most applications and as long as you’re coming to me, I’ll kindly provide that letter and fill any forms required for you to access that funding.

So drop “CHARITY” below and I’ll pop you a link to access funding
Send “EHCP” and I’ll send you a link to get your assessment booked in.

Let’s join up and fight together. Your kids deserve better 🙌🏻

Found my receipt tucked inside the front cover of this book, still sat on my bedside table. 4months it’s sat there and this evening I finally made time to open it.

I made time, I didn’t find time. That’s why it’s been sat there 4 months. I say it each morning, I see it sat there patiently waiting to be picked up, and I think I’ll just do x,y,z today and then I’ll be able to get an early night and sit reading for a bit. And it still sits there.

Today was no different. Same routine. Still came up late and still it was sat there. Except I thought f**k it, it’s already late so might as well start.

Nutrition, wellness, mental health, fitness, what ever your goals and focus are, you’ll go through the same thought process and that’s why so many people are slow to get going or struggle to start at all.

The time will never be quite right, there’ll always be something else you need to do, and if you hang about waiting to be motivated, yea that s**t will leave you high and dry. Little steps, baby ones if you have to, all build up. Consistency builds the momentum to keep you going.

So while you might be planning on starting back or starting something when the kids go back to school, let’s start taking those steps together, first.

🌟Physio First Summer Sessions🌟
Starts Mon 7th Sept
1 x 20min video consult
4 x 30min in person sessions wherever you’re most comfy: home, gym, pool?
Bespoke program tweaked as needed along the way
With a choice of either 30min Therapeutic Back Massage or Reflexology treatment.

PLUS!! Secure your spot before 22nd Aug and you’ll also get x2 Prep Calls (video/phone whatever works for you) to look at what those little steps will be for you and start building that momentum now.

Drop a “I’m in” below and I’ll send you all the details 👇🏼

Introducing new equipment and exercises takes time.

Keep it brief and keep it motivating.

Break down the task: Gryff doesn’t know what I want him to do and cause it’s new (and there’s food 😂) he’s excited. Reward the bits he does right: front feet up on the Bosu = treat, staying there while taking weight through his back legs (not sitting) = treat, break away, lots of praise and repeat.

Then build on this once he can get himself on then we start doing some deeper work.

Don’t underestimate the time this bit takes. Some dogs catch on really quick, others need a lot more time, more support, different rewards.

This is why having a professional session helps you get the best out of the rehab. We can see what your pet can do, what they can’t, what’s compensating and help to support you in the home.

Don’t forget you can come Meet & Greet at Woofterz DOG Grooming on Sat 22nd Aug 11am-3pm to get more info and save on your first booking ☺️
