Is anyone else’s skin playing up this summer? ☀️

Mine definitely is!

Even though I’m using the same skincare I love, the warmer weather has left my skin feeling a bit more congested, sensitive and just not quite itself.

One thing I always tell patients is not to panic and change everything at once. Your skin often just needs a few small tweaks, rather than a whole new routine.

We don’t treat calendars. We treat skin.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that laser automatically has to stop during the summer.

The reality is that we don’t make decisions based on the month of the year—we make them based on your skin.

Before every treatment we assess:
☀️ The area being treated.
🤎 Whether that area has a recent tan.
👩‍⚕️ Your skin type.
✨ The laser being used.
🧴 Whether you’ll be able to follow the recommended aftercare.

This means that many people can continue laser treatments throughout the summer, while others may be advised to wait if the treatment area has had recent sun exposure or a recent tan.

Sometimes one area may be suitable to treat while another isn’t. For example, if your legs are tanned after a holiday but your underarms haven’t been exposed to the sun, your underarms may still be suitable for treatment following assessment.

That’s why there isn’t a simple “no laser in summer” rule. Every patient—and every treatment area—is assessed individually.
