We at the Walnut Group are disappointed at the recent decision not to role out PSA testing for Prostate Cancer to a wider group of men. This is a missed opportunity - generally speaking the earlier a man finds out he has Prostate Cancer the better the treatment, the quicker the recovery and the longer life expectancy after treatment. This decision will just strengthen our resolve to continue our outreach and awareness work.

However this is not the end - Prostate Cancer Research has an e-petition running to have the issue debated in Parliament once the petition reaches 100,000 signatures. It's currently sat at 73,500 so it's nearly there, but it closes on 13th July. Please consider signing the petition which can be found on the link and share this as far and wide as you can.

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying the nice weather. A wee reminder of our next monthly group meeting 6pm sharp on Wednesday 3rd June at Vine House. This month we will be hearing from Carole Roberts, Principal Psychosexual Psychotherapist who will talk to us about the series of Intimacy Workshops for those affected by cancer that are being run for the various support groups at Vine House. We hope to see you there.

📣 Calling all classic car fans! Is the annual Lytham CAR SHOW in your calendar? It's on June 21st - Father's Day!

🚗🏎️🚓🚚🛵 It's always a fantastic day on lovely Lytham Green, organised by long-term Rosemere supporter Ed Cook and his team. Last year, the event had over 1,200 vehicles on show, and it raised an incredible £34,000! Over the years, it has raised in excess of £120,000 for us in support of local cancer care ❤

Public admission is free (although the event volunteers welcome on-the-door donations!) and it's a £20 donation if you want to show a vehicle. You can find out more or register your vehicle on their website 👉 https://www.thelythamcarshow.com/

A reminder of our next monthly support group meeting on Wednesday 6th May at 6pm at Vine House CancerHelp - Preston Ltd where the session will be facilitated by George with a visit from Niru from 5 Star Clinic in Preston who will do some work on mobility and stretching, We will also have some input from Josh from Preston Council Community Health Connector.
