Occuity is continuing to build its international distribution network for the PM1 Pachymeter and planned launch of the AX1 Axiometer™.

We already work with ophthalmic partners in a growing number of markets, but there are still regions where we do not yet have distribution coverage.

We’re growing the Occuity team.

Occuity develops innovative, non-contact optical devices for healthcare screening and monitoring, and we’re currently recruiting for three full-time positions at our headquarters in Reading:

• Fibre Splicer Technician – Medical Devices
• R&D Technician – Medical Devices
• Design Engineer – Medical Devices

These are hands-on roles offering the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team and contribute directly to the development of our next generation of medical devices.

We are delighted to announce that Occuity has secured a major £1.5 million Innovate UK grant to advance our SD1 diabetes and pre-diabetes risk-assessment technology.

Occuity was selected as one of just eight projects funded from 347 applications to the Biomedical Catalyst 2025 programme. That represents a success rate of approximately 2.3%.

This is an exceptional achievement for our team and a significant external endorsement of Occuity’s technology, expertise and long-term vision.

The funding will support the continued development and clinical validation of SD1, a handheld, non-contact optical device designed to help identify people who may benefit from further investigation and referral into existing clinical pathways.

Occuity's CEO, Dr, Dan Daly, has just returned to the UK fro China where he as part of the Sino-UK FIT Programme 2026 — a focused delegation of just five UK medtech SMEs and one Oxford-origin spinout. The visit to China’s Yangtze River Delta — provided direct access to one of the most advanced and well-funded healthcare innovation ecosystems globally. Across the programme, Occuity engaged with a broad range of stakeholders, including medical device development partners, contract clinical trial organisations, regulatory experts specialising in the NMPA approval pathway, and distributors.

The scale of opportunity in China is significant, with hundreds of millions affected by conditions like diabetes and glaucoma.
