Okay I admit I got a bit of fomo seeing everybody else’s Halloween flash day plans so I also am doing one. Finishing a little early though so I can take the boys trick or treating afterwards. All designs either £40 or £50 and you pick up any of my tshirt stock that’s left for just £10 each. Very cool very spooky. Bring your friends bring your sister bring your enemy I’ll tattoo you all. I’ll also have my Halloween playlist going for as long as I can stand until I get sick of it repeating.

What makes the perfect Halloween movie? I think the vibe with Halloween is spooky and fun rather than straight up scary so the perfect Halloween movie has to be either something old and campy or a kids movie or a movie that’s explicitly unserious or a movie that’s so bad it’s good. Some options for you… For an old and campy horror movie, may I suggest the 1982 slasher The Slumber Party Massacre. A kids movie? Can’t go wrong with Monster House, a movie that’s way better than it has any right to be. A movie that’s very unserious? How about Bodies Bodies Bodies for a fun murder mystery. And then my all time favourite so bad it’s good horror movie is Leprechaun staring Warwick Davis and a young Jennifer Aniston. Four solid choices.

Big ambitious project alert! £50 if you want to book one OR if you’re already booked in for something else I’ll do you one for £25 (or if you wanted a sequence of them on you I’d do you a real good price). Gotta be somewhere I can photograph it easily and where it won’t distort too much, arms and legs would be most ideal but we can work with back, chest, tummy etc if you want.

It’s 25 tattoos that come together to form one short animated sequence of Snoopy surfing. I’ve wanted to do one of these for a while and i decided to finally commit. Man this was real tedious to put together, I had to find some software online that would split the original video clip into separate frames, figure out what frame rate would be good enough but also realistically doable (I settled on 8 fps), drop them into procreate and make sure they were in the right order, sketch each frame, lay them out onto a page, fully render the sketches into the flash designs, reassemble the designs in the correct order and layer out in the document in the right places, hopefully it’ll be worth it tho I think this is gonna look really cool. Toying with the idea of maybe selling a print of the frames all layers out I think that could be cool. Let me know which frame you want set aside, I’ll try to keep a regularly updated list of which ones have been claimed and which ones still need to be done. Credit to Phil Berge who pioneered this concept about ten years ago, truly the goat.

SATURDAY MEGAMIX

Lots of cool tattoos from the last couple of weeks, some of them from like early September cause I just forgot to post them or I had flash I wanted to post or ones I could think of two paragraphs about already figured out. Thanks for keeping me fed and with a roof above my head and able to buy a couple records every now and then. I love all of you. Car has been broken and in the garage in Liskeard so if I’ve tattooed you in the last week sorry that you had to hear me complain ad nauseam about having to get the bus that takes an hour and a half for what would otherwise be a half hour drive.

1. He just like me fr. Molly never reacts to anything I ever post on instagram but when I put this design on my story she replied with “he just like me fr” because she drinks a lot of Dr Pepper. “Drink a lot of soda so they call me Dr Pepper” haha nice I love Tribe Called Quest.

2. Minecraft dog for Bug who always provides me with fun animal facts. Did you know that pigeons have a 270 degree field of vision??

3. Three dogs back to back? This one is from an album by a band called Sports.

4. The guitar they use for a lot of classic jangle pop music apparently. Cool!

5. Low poly bishop cause the cause the guys last name is Bishop.

6. Bojack and Bojack and Bojack. I gotta rewatch Bojack soon it’s been a couple years.

7. Sneaky rat on the neck with a special hat. Nice and red because the neck is hella thin skin and my customer was very brave and told me afterwards that it really hurt.

8. Frog skeleton. Did you know that a frog skeleton contains almost three billion bones? That’s a rock fact.

9. Birdt.

EXTRA DAY IN PLYMOUTH OCTOBER TUESDAY 13th

Plymouth! I will be working an extra day at new.sun.tattoo this coming Tuesday (the 13th). Flash custom whatever, DM me and we can make something cool. I’ll be there from 10:00 until 16:00 so probably time for at least four tattoos maybe five. Also if you wanna grab the whole day I’ll do you the full eight hours for like £300.

Why am I doing an extra day? Because I love you all that’s why. What am I actually doing an extra day? It’s a long story but basically my car is currently stuck in Liskeard and getting fixed that day and it’s an all day job so my choices were either get a train there and back and there again and then drive back and spend a collective six hours travelling back and forth, sit in Liskeard for ten hours or jump on a train to Plymouth and have a fun time doing some more tattoos. Seems like a no brainer to me.

END OF SUMMER FLASH SALE! BUY ONE GET ONE HALF PRICE!

Summer is truly over, all my summer engagements are done with and now we’re properly into the back end of the year. My favourite bit of the year. I love Autumn. Now that all the conventions for the year are done with I’m gonna be getting back to drawing more flash designs but man, I drew a lot this summer. I’ve been lucky enough to get to tattoo quite a lot of it but there’s still loads left that never got claimed and I really want to tattoo it. So yeah, buy one flash design, get another one half price. Want more than two? Very cool of you, talk to me we can figure out a deal. What like six or seven (six seven) just book a day session dude we can get so many of them done in that time. I love you.

Sometimes I’ll be mid conversation and I’ve got this thing that I impulsively do sometimes as a bit where I’ll repeat back a word or phrase that someone said but say it wrong (dog roll, nice cream, blamb etc) and sometimes I come out with something really evocative and I have to pause and write down whatever I just said into my notesapp ideas list. I don’t remember why we were having a conversation that involved Tony Hawk but I’m almost certain that’s where this idea came from. I also wrote down Toady Hawk next to it, I think that one was Mollys idea. The guy who got this got it as his first tattoo and he was in his mid thirties, what a wild first tattoo to get at age 36. He said that it just sort of spoke to him.

Bacon flip. 900 hog grab. Front side pork slide. Farm shove it. Piglet drop. Tony Pork pro pig 3. That’s all the ideas for pig skateboarding jokes I could come up with. Make up your own in the comments if you want. Lucozade

I’ve never used Cat GPT before. I’ve don’t even really know how people use Clap PPP is it an app or a website i don’t really know. “Hey Crank BPT send an email for me bc i have been sold the idea that sending an email is really hard work and my life would be easier if someone else did it for me” get real buddy. “Hey Champ BNP draw me a caricature based on everything you know about me” my brother why does the phone know so much about you? You’re all outing yourself on how much you let the Clapped GPP make decisions for you, looking at you tattoo artists who posted those goofy ah caricatures we can all tell when you’ve used Crabs DLC in your creative process like do you not love the process of drawing and designing stuff? That’s like half the job. Day one hater of Chapped TMZ, if i catch any of my friends using it I’m gonna roast them for the rest of the day. Made this at Tattoo Burnup last weekend, sorry to everyone who couldn’t get a tattoo from me on Sunday because of the food poisoning fiasco but I’m gonna be in Exeter in November to tattoo for a couple days to make up for it.

Sebtattooedme time, come on grab your cigs, we’ll tattoo a very cool energy drink can (or however the song goes idk). I felt emboldened after having complete the Moomin trilogy (Monster can, pack of cigs and a lighter) and I felt like I had to go again one more time. These ideas came real quick, like I had them already locked and loaded in my brain. I would have drawn them all in one sitting if I’d remembered to charge my iPad. If someone wants to get all three in one go I’ll do it man, I’ll do it at a good price for a good person on a good day. How’s £225 for the whole lot? That’s saving you like £50 homie.

We did it! We finished the Moomin triptych! Moomin Monster can, Moomin lighter and Moomin cigarette packet. I’ve actually managed to complete this for all three of my main little dudes, we got this combo done with Snoopy and Miffy a while ago, just needed someone to take one for the team and get this sebtattooedme classic. I knew i was onto something when I drew this design and a bunch of people have shared it around and commented on how hard it goes but one brave soldier really did it. What flavour do we think this is? Instinctively i think it’s gotta be some sort of berry. Like the lingonberry juice you get from IKEA sort of thing. It’s not overly sweet, maybe even a little bit tart tasting, for sure an acquired taste. You pour it out and it’s a sort of pale bluey purple colour. You find it in expensive supermarkets in Europe and also sometimes they have one loose can at your local Premier in small town England.

I haven’t done a Pink Panther can yet, I haven’t done a Garfield can yet, I haven’t done an Adventure Time can yet. I should do all of those. 7RS all the way round if i recall correctly on this one (and then a 3RL for the shading and a 14RS for the solid black).

I finally got to do it! I finally got the chance to tattoo the Wish You Were Here snoopy and Charlie Brown design. A bunch of people have had this as a token but I haven’t gotten to actually tattoo it myself until now. I remember sketching this design while I walked for a train that was delayed by almost an hour and my phone was almost dead. I love this design, I think it’s very neat. Medium taper 9RL on this one, usually would have used a 5Rs but I was feeling zesty that day. I tried getting into Pink Floyd a couple years ago when I was listening to the list of greatest albums of all time and tbh their music didn’t do much for me but this album probably was the one I liked most.

The tattoo design that for some reason got pushed out to a whole lot of people around the world(half a million people specifically) and almost tripled the amount of people who follow me. Don’t get me wrong, having a bigger number next to your name doesn’t really mean much in real life for the most part but it did allow my work to reach people who maybe wouldn’t have seen it and some of them have even made day trips to get tattooed by me. Someone came from Manchester just to get a couple tattoos from me, that’s like a seven hour journey that’s mad to me! A not insignificant amount of engagement on that one post came from Peru. Neat I guess! That post also led to one member of the Jonas Brothers following me on instagram (I check sometimes and he still does). Not the one Molly fancied growing up though but still a fun thing to tell people.
