What happens when AI gets it wrong?

In our final part of our series, Dr Corne Hurter puts AI to the test again — and this time, the response misses the mark.

It’s a reminder of the risks that can come with relying on AI alone.

Our research found:
• 1 in 4 people have received incorrect or misleading health information from AI
• 37% say checking symptoms this way has made them feel more anxious
• 63% say AI can make minor symptoms sound more serious

AI can be a useful starting point, but it doesn’t always provide certainty.

And when it comes to our health, uncertainty can feel overwhelming.

That’s why no one should have to navigate it alone.

At AXA Health, we’re here to listen, support and help signpost people to make well informed decisions about their health - with confidence.

You might have seen the news that polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) has been renamed to polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS). Following over a decade of global consultation, the change comes after the term PCOS was deemed inaccurate and contributed to delayed diagnosis, inaccurate care, and stigma.

Discover our guide on this women’s health condition that affects 1 in 8 women worldwide and learn about the symptoms and the potential treatment options.

With years of experience, Kelly is passionate about supporting members through tough moments in their lives. She believes every conversation can help someone move forward to a better place.

Kelly feels connections with the people in her life through everyday acts of kindness, which fuels her belief that care must start with colleagues feeling valued and supported; only then can they give their best to AXA Health’s members.

As a Health Counsellor Kelly champions AXA Health’s 24/7 health support line. She’s proud of the way nurses, counsellors, pharmacists and midwives collaborate* to ensure members can receive support, health information and practical signposting in one conversation.
