Little Rascals Foundation is a charity that has been set up by the directors of Little Rascals Play Centre, Dave Edwards and Ben Wootton, to support children with disabilities. Ben has worked closely with people with disabilities throughout his career and has a good understanding of the difficulties these children and their families face. Ben wanted to set up this charity, so that he could help th

ese brave children to overcome these challenges. Dave is a professional footballer and wanted to use his status to help others. Since opening Little Rascals, Dave has taken pleasure in seeing how much the play centre has been able to support children with disabilities, and feels that this charity is the perfect way to support them further, in many different ways. The Little Rascals Foundation will strive to support children with disabilities, helping them to participate in what is considered 'normal' in their everyday society. Little Rascals Play Centre already works hard to make the centre accessible for all children. They hold 'Kids Plus' sessions, which enable children with disabilities to play when the centre is quieter and have sole access to the play equipment and their sensory room. The charity will now look to expand these services and raise further funds to support children with disabilities throughout the Midlands and Mid-Wales.

🌈 THURSDAY: Different, Not Less

The world would be a very boring place if we were all the same!

People learn, communicate and experience the world in different waysβ€”and that's something to celebrate.

Inclusion isn't about changing people to fit in.
It's about creating spaces where everyone belongs exactly as they are.

Today, let's celebrate differences and recognise the value that diversity brings to our communities.

πŸ’™ Different.
πŸ’™ Unique.
πŸ’™ Amazing.

😊 WEDNESDAY: The Power of Being Heard

Everyone deserves a voice.

Being heard means having people listen to your thoughts, opinions, ideas and experiences.

Sometimes the most inclusive thing we can do is simply take the time to listen.

πŸ’¬ Ask questions.
πŸ‘‚ Listen carefully.
❀️ Respect different ways of communicating.

Every voice matters, and every person deserves to be heard.

🌟 TUESDAY: I Am More Than My Diagnosis

A learning disability is only one part of a person.

People are so much more than a label. They have favourite foods, hobbies, talents, dreams, friendships, achievements and interests that make them uniquely them.

Today, let's celebrate the whole person.

🎨 What do you love doing?
⚽ What's your favourite hobby?
🎡 What makes you smile?

Because when we truly see people, we see their strengths, passions and personalities too.

πŸ’™ MONDAY: Do You See Me?

πŸ‘‹ Welcome to Learning Disability Week!

This year's theme is "Do You See Me?" β€” encouraging us all to recognise, value and celebrate people with a learning disability.

Being seen means more than being noticed. It means being included, listened to, respected, and given opportunities to shine.

This week we'll be celebrating the amazing individuals in our community and exploring ways we can make the world a little more inclusive for everyone.

πŸ’™ Everyone deserves to be seen.
πŸ’™ Everyone deserves to belong.
πŸ’™ Everyone deserves to be valued.

How amazing does our new artwork look πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜

And believe us it looks even better up close!

Why not pop along and take a look for yourself? We absolutely love how it has transformed the space and brought so much colour to our setting.

A huge thank you to Off Key Art for creating this fantastic piece for us. We couldn't be happier with the result πŸ’šπŸ’›

πŸŽ‰πŸ’™ A Huge Thank You to Birdie Bays! πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

We would like to say a massive thank you to Birdie Bays for raising an amazing Β£202 during the Mytton & Mermaid birthday celebrations.

We are so grateful that you chose to support Little Rascals and our SEN services. Community support like this means the world to us and helps us continue to grow, develop and improve the services we offer to local children and families.

Every pound raised helps us provide more inclusive opportunities, sensory experiences, support sessions and community projects for our wonderful SEN families. Your generosity will make a real difference, and we cannot thank you enough.

A huge thank you also goes to everyone who donated, took part, and supported the fundraising efforts throughout the celebrations. Together, you are helping us create a more inclusive community where every child can thrive. ✨

From all of us at Little Rascals – thank you for your kindness, support and belief in what we do. We are incredibly lucky to have such amazing people backing our mission. πŸ’™
