My drum prayers for these days of Lunar and Calendar Lammas/Lughnasadh are now resting in the drying shed awaiting their finishing touches.
Firstly a dark Red Deer Drum birthed on Lunar Lammas on the Oak full moon has the most striking markings on its hide almost like cave paintings, and carries a real ancestor energy about her.
And today's prayer - an unusual hide for me but one that called loudly to me to be birthed this calendar day of first harvest, Goat hide on an 18" Oak wood frame.
Both have matching song callers on storm fallen wood from an ancient Oak tree here in Argyll.

Happy Lughnasadh everyone - as we dance between the Lunar and Calendar dates of this first of the harvest celebrations here in the Northern Hemisphere and Happy Imbolc to my followers in the Southern Hemisphere.

Here in Argyll the cherry trees are beginning to shed red leaves and the Rowan berries are ripening signalling the turning of the wheel towards Autumn - and we are still in July!
I've been harvesting up my drums and completing some that have been waiting a while in the drying shed - ready to depart to Medicine Festival next weekend - I hope to see some of you there?

The Ovoid Horse Drum is finally complete along with her sister Red Deer Drum also birthed at the Equinox - who was quite put out that she didn't feature in the earlier reel!

Today’s drum prayer for the Solstice. Honouring the sacred pause as the sun stands still on the horizon. A 16” Reindeer drum stretched over Willow bones. Sitting in gratitude for being able to do this work and rebirth these spirits into the world. ❤️

My Equinox prayer two unique large ovoid drums birthed in the Spring Sunshine today.
One hair on Horse hide one Red Deer hide.

On this day of balance how interesting that when I photographed the Red Deer drum the pictures showed two distinct halves - a dark side and a light which can’t be seen with the naked eye?

Drums never cease to amaze me with their magic ❤️

Earlier this week two very individual drums were birthed on the Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse.
