For 30 years, food took up far more space in my life than it ever should have.

I was either on a diet, thinking about starting a diet, or feeling guilty for not sticking to one.

And here’s something I’ve realised…

The food I ate when I was over 20 stone wasn’t all
“bad” food.

Some of it was exactly the same food I enjoy now.

The difference wasn’t always the food.

It was the way I was eating it.

Rushed.

Distracted.

Stressed.

Binging.

Trying to fill a need that food could never fully satisfy.

I wasn’t truly tasting it.
I wasn’t present with it.
I was often thinking about the next thing before I’d even finished the first. Numb.

These days, I don’t see food as good or bad.

I see it as nourishment, enjoyment, connection and information.

I enjoy food more than ever.

I just don’t feel controlled by it anymore.

Food used to take up all my headspace.

Now it fuels my life and nourishes my soul. ❤️

Genuine question because I find this fascinating.

As someone who shares a lot of my life online on a public page, I probably see this from a different perspective.

When I see someone I know share a success, a struggle, a new business, a baby, a loss, or a dream they’re chasing, I see a real person putting themselves out there.

Yet it seems incredibly common for us to engage more with celebrities than the people we actually know and care for.

I don’t think it’s because all people are unkind.
Most people are genuinely lovely.

Which is why I find it so interesting.

I’ve wondered whether once someone has a public page, we somehow stop seeing the person and start seeing the page.

Maybe it feels less personal.

Maybe it feels less sincere.

Maybe we’re simply conditioned to pay more attention to people we don’t know.

I honestly don’t know.

What do you think?

My morning walks have become precious to me.

They’re where I clear my head, think things through and reconnect with myself before the day takes over.

And I’ve been thinking…

Why don’t I help others build this too!

Starting 22nd June, I’ll be live every weekday morning from 6:30-7:00am for 4 weeks.

We’ll walk together.

We’ll have a chat.

We’ll put the world to rights 😆

We’ll start the day with something that feels good rather than diving straight into stress, emails and everyone else’s demands.

Walk outside.

Walk in the house in pjs.

Walk on a treadmill.

Walk at your own pace.

No pressure.

No perfection.

Just a little accountability, encouragement and a lovely group of people all trying to show up for themselves.

I’d love you to join me ❤️
