What a fantastic day!

Firstly, meeting the innovative and insightful Dr Loretta Shoderu talking all things health inequalities, accessible care and expanding Health Valued's service's.

Secondly (forgot to get a picture!) with Hannah Harrison and the hub team celebrating a fantastic year, all the hard work from the hub team, volunteers and community members making a difference to their community Oasis UK

Finally, the last session of the 12 week Help to Grow: Management Course with Steve Ennis at University of Worcester ! It's been an honour to be a part of this cohort, learning from so many great people, different business and absorbing as much information as possible as a new entrepreneur!

It's been a huge day of reflection and forward thinking!

The key theme from today:

People: At the centre of what we do

People: What we can learn from and aspire to grow, work and collaborate with

People: The power of positivity, networks and expanding your horizons

In the last 12 months:

- We've had over 200 physiotherapy appointments and 100 new patients in our free to access community physiotherapy clinic

- We've had 48 physiotherapy and dietitian students on placement, supporting their learning and enhancing community provisions from University of Worcester , University of Wolverhampton and Birmingham Newman University

- Partnered with great organisations like Kidderminster Food Bank, Dudley Stroke Association, Oasis Community Hub, Blakenhale, Darkhouse Baptist Church, St Andrews Church, The Straits, Sanctuary Supported Living Noble House and Hazel Court, Cavendish Park, Evesham, Wednesfield Aces Cycle Speedway to provide accessible healthcare services, health promotion and prevention directly to people who need it, within the hearts of their community!

Neighbourhood health is nothing without people at it's core, and at Health Valued that is our key aim - to empower the community!

So many exciting things to come up over the next 12 months!

To say this started as an 'off the cuff idea' based on lived experience and the health care landscape almost 2 years ago, we now work with incredible partners across Birmingham, Dudley, Bilston, Worcester, Kidderminster, Evesham...and growing!

We are delighted to be working with Cavendish Park Care Home to help the residents get moving and enhancing their quality of life!

We’re proud to support the next generation of physiotherapists by welcoming students into the home. Their enthusiasm, compassion, and commitment make a real difference to our residents while giving them valuable hands-on experience. 🙌

This is what company director Oliver had to say:

“At Health Valued, we are expanding our services within the community to provide much-needed accessible healthcare. We are keen to develop the skills and learning opportunities for our placement students, broadening their horizons to make a real impact, with real people, across the West Midlands. Our growing partnership with Cavendish Park, Evesham, symbolises that, and we are excited to work with the staff, families and residents to enhance their provisions, helping people live longer, better quality lives”

🌟 May Highlights🌟

May was Stroke awareness month and the team were busy out and about engaging with the community sharing stroke awareness and prevention across the borough.

We supported 295 community members across 28 group sessions, and Louise visited 2 schools delivering valuable stroke prevention and awareness sessions to 3 classes.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and helped make all of this possible. Your involvement truly makes a difference.

Here’s to continuing our work, reaching even more people, and showing that life goes on after a stroke — we can help. 🩵🩶🩷
