Taguig City Welcomes Temasek Foundation ​
​
The Taguig City Government recently welcomed representatives from Temasek Foundation and CareSpan for a special visit as part of the production of a commemorative video marking Temasek Foundation's 20th anniversary.
​
Forming the team from Temasek Foundation were Amrin Amin, Head of Corporate Development, Joshua Wong, Director of Communications and their documentation crew. ​ Accompanying them were Lorna Andres and Liza Martinez of CareTech Health. Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano warmly welcomed them along with leaders from the City Health Office, Dra. Sue Amiscua and Dra. Ma. Evelyn Lacsina. ​
​
In her interview, Mayor Lani underscored the valuable help of Temasek Foundation in accelerating the delivery of free universal health care to the Taguig residents now numbering over 200 thousand benefiting from the local government’s health program. ​ She also acknowledged the partnership with CareSpan as the technology provider in enabling the health care workers to serve the needs of the residents.
​
The delegation from Temasek Foundation and CareSpan received a warm welcome as well from the Pinagsama Health Center where they were met by Dr. Franslen Anonuevo, Dr. Maria Flor Franco and Dr. Norena Osano. ​ Here, the Foundation team saw for themselves how city residents received various health benefits from YAKAP to Animal Bite treatment to TB-DOTS. They witnessed too how the barangay health workers use technology particularly in the delivery of the YAKAP benefits.
​
Considerable time was spent by the Foundation team chatting with two beneficiaries of the city’s health program. One was emotional as she profusely thanked the local government and Temasek Foundation in her fight against breast cancer. ​ She repeatedly expressed profound gratitude for the help she received in overcoming challenges, largely financial in nature. The other was just as grateful as a recipient of free consultations and medicines.
​
The crew also interviewed Lorna Andres, Implementation and Planning Head at CareTech Health, who spoke lengthily about how Temasek Foundation’s partnership with CareSpan is crucial in realizing the local healthcare initiatives of the local government. Working closely with local government units and healthcare providers strengthens healthcare delivery and improves access to essential services with the able backing of Temasek Foundation. Lorna underscored that through this collaboration, the program has been successful in building more connected, responsive, and patient-centered healthcare systems that empower communities and enhance the well-being of residents.

Before departing, Mayor Lani made sure to tell the Foundation team to notify their office should they visit the region again, assuring to host them. Any representative from Temsaek Foundation can surely expect a warm welcome from the Taguig City Government the next time they visit. ​
