July is more than just another month—it's a month to listen, learn, and speak up for women whose pain is often overlooked.

This Fibroid Awareness Month, PCOS Helps is dedicated to creating awareness, breaking myths, sharing expert information and empowering women to prioritize their reproductive health.

Throughout July, join us as we start important conversations about uterine fibroids, early diagnosis, symptoms, treatment options, and women's well being. Because every woman deserves to be heard, supported, and informed.💙

Stay with us throughout the month as we spread awareness, one conversation at a time.

Breaking the Cycle: Championing Collective Action for PCOS/PMOS

On July 13th, PCOS Helps was proud to host “Breaking the Cycle: Championing Collective Action for PCOS/PMOS” in collaboration with Health Bridge Welfare , bringing together students, healthcare professionals, and advocates for an engaging conversation on PCOS/PMOS.

This webinar held special significance as it marked our first awareness initiative dedicated to Swat and its surrounding medical colleges. Expanding our outreach beyond major urban centers reflects our commitment to ensuring that evidence-based reproductive health education reaches communities where these conversations are often limited.

Our speakers explored the medical, legal, and advocacy perspectives of PCOS/PMOS, addressed common misconceptions, emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and intervention, and highlighted the role each of us can play in creating a more informed and supportive society.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, asked thoughtful questions, and contributed to making this session a meaningful step toward greater awareness and collective action.

A big thank you to the Youth Empowerment Fund, Global Youth Mobilization (GYM), and the European Union (EU) for making this happen! Through this incredible support, our youth leaders are stepping up to show that change starts with us.

Did you know that Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is about much more than just irregular periods and hormones? 🌸
Left unmanaged, PCOS can significantly increase your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. Factors like obesity, family history, and high insulin levels can further compound this risk. The good news? It is entirely manageable, and taking proactive steps early can make a massive difference for your long-term health.
🔍 Common Symptoms of PCOS to Watch For:
Irregular or missed periods
Excess facial or body hair
Acne & weight gain (or difficulty losing weight)
Dark skin patches around the neck or underarms
Thinning hair or hair fall
🛑 Risk Factors for Type 2 Diabetes in PCOS:
Obesity & lack of physical activity
Family history of diabetes
Unhealthy eating habits & high insulin levels
Long-term untreated PCOS
🌱 What Can You Do?
Before PCOS develops: Maintain a healthy lifestyle, exercise regularly, eat balanced meals, and avoid excessive sugary drinks and processed foods.
If you have PCOS: Don’t ignore irregular periods. Get regular medical checkups, monitor blood sugar levels if advised, manage body weight, and strictly follow your doctor’s recommended treatment.
For long-term health: Stay physically active, get screened for diabetes regularly, focus on sustainable healthy habits instead of crash diets, and seek early medical advice!
✨ Final Message: PCOS is common and manageable, but it should not be ignored. With early diagnosis, healthy lifestyle choices, and regular follow-ups, the risk of complications like Type 2 Diabetes can be significantly reduced. 🩺💪
