🧠 Same situation. Different emotional response. Why?
The frontal lobes play an important role in emotional regulation, motivation, decision-making, and executive functioning.
Ideally, activity across the left and right frontal regions is relatively balanced. When there is significant asymmetry, it may influence how we process emotions and respond to challenges.
Some people with frontal asymmetry may experience:
😟 Increased emotional reactivity
💭 Negative thinking patterns
⚡ Difficulty regulating emotions
📉 Reduced motivation
🧠 Executive functioning challenges such as poor planning, organisation, and task completion
It's important to remember that a QEEG does not diagnose a condition. Rather, it helps us identify patterns of brain activity that may be contributing to the symptoms someone is experiencing.
By understanding these patterns, neurofeedback can be tailored to support healthier brain regulation and more balanced functioning.
Because when it comes to the brain, symptoms are only part of the story.
