Saturday night. Are you prepping your hair, or going to bed on it and dealing with it tomorrow?

I'm not judging. Some Saturdays I do the whole routine. Some Saturdays the bonnet goes on over whatever is happening up there and I make peace with Sunday-morning me.

But if you've got five minutes: spray bottle, leave-in, buttercream on the ends, twist it up, bonnet. That's it. Sunday-morning you will be so grateful.

School is starting back, and I already know what some of your mornings look like.

Here's the thing nobody says out loud: the 7 AM meltdown isn't a hair problem, it's a scheduling problem. You can't do wash-day work on a school morning.

Front-load it. Wash and deep condition on Sunday. Style into twists or cornrows that hold 4-5 days. Then mornings are refresh only — spray bottle, a little leave-in, buttercream on the ends, out the door in ten minutes. Bonnet every night, no exceptions, and day 4 still looks like day 1.

Moms — what time does your house get up on school mornings, and how much of that is hair? Tell me I'm not the only one who's been there. 🌿

Which wash day step do you skip when you're tired? No lying.

Mine used to be the pre-poo. I'd tell myself I didn't have twenty extra minutes — and then spend forty fighting tangles I created myself.

The skipped step is usually the one costing you the most.
