Pictures as promised

The Flatwater Classic did not disappoint when it came to Nubian numbers, it was a huge show. All of our juniors made us proud, but our top placing juniors were:

Raising Arrows Sippin’ Pretty: Grand Champion under Judge Joseph Pilotte, winning the Nubian Specialty

Wingwood Farm Donegal Aioli: Grand Champion and Best Junior in Show under Judge Ashley Scheel

Also pictured are the only few showmanship moments I captured

While it took us about 8 hrs to get to the Flatwater Classic, we made it and showed a few young milkers and a couple juniors at our FIRST Nubian specialty and won our FIRST piece of pottery. A good time was had by all!

Pictures and a full run down to come after our travels home.

Her look says it all. Clipping black goats…😬😂Clipping early so we aren’t showing naked moles

Introducing dry yearling:

Wingwood Farm Donegal Aoili

This pretty yearling is stunning to watch in the pen. Shes got a beautiful neck that blends smoothly into her shoulders coupled with a strong, level top line and correct feet and legs. Another doe we’re so thankful was offered to us and are very excited to see her mature with a mammary!

Introducing dry yearling:

Wingwood Farm Czar Tanya

Sire: *B Wingwood Farm TBL Aleksandr
Dam: Wingwood Farm Ara Tabla

Tanya is a deep bodied, correct doe with beautiful breed character. She has pretty long ears and a prominent roman nose while having nice width between her hocks, and a wide rump.

We’ve already made some breeding plans for her and can’t wait to see her freshen!

🥂 Raising Arrows Sippin’ Pretty 🥂

We really love Sip, and snagged a picture after her 4th ring of showing at the Colorado Showdown. She was very over it at that point, and was not super photogenic 🫠

Despite being in a bit of a wonky phase as a dry yearling, we’re super excited with how she’s coming together. Sip was Mesa’s 2025 keeper choice (and she did a fabulous job handling her at the showdown)

Sip was 2025 ADGA National Show 15th place Junior kid.

The California girls are HERE!

We want to thank Fauna and family for the wonderful opportunity to bring in some beautiful Wingwood Farm does.

Full introductions will come after they have settled in.

I’ll be honest, not one outside doe we’ve purchased in the past has worked out for us… they just didn’t seem to look like the “picture” that they were sold as. So, when Fauna went live introducing her does/kids and supporting animals, we tuned in. We absolutely fell in love with Aquamarine. She was graceful and just had this really strong and demanding presence along with the traits we feel strongly about. We all agreed we needed to bid on her during the SCOnline sale, and we were lucky enough to have the last bid ❤️

While the other two dry yearlings we welcomed along with Aquamarine were not part of the online auction, we could not pass them up when a telephone call had Karen Smith offering them to us.

We’re thrilled to bring in some diversity within our herd. Culling hard (until we cried) paired with losing our beautiful Peg this season left some holes to fill in the herd. We could not be more excited and thrilled to welcome these Wingwood girls. They’re just as beautiful as we had hoped, even AFTER the trip!

Colorado Showdown results:

Raising Arrows Sweet Alyssum (2 yr old) - 3x GCH, 3x BOB (scratched from the last ring)

Raising Arrows Hot Toddy (2 yr old) - 1x GCH, 1x BOB, 2x Reserve

Raising Arrows Lady BlueMoon (milking yearling) - 1x Reserve, 3x 1st (her buckling was reserved early, but due to a last minute cancellation he’s available!)

Raising Arrows Sippin’ Pretty (dry yearling) - 1x Reserve

Our herd at the showdown was incredibly young and we are so proud of them! Wow that 4 ring was something else. We learned our young milkers had zero patience past ring 2 🤣
