Jennifer brings creativity and heart to Skyview every day, and this win is just one more reason we’re grateful to have her on our team.

🌟 Adult Superhero Costumes Needed at Skyview

The Activity Department at Cascades at Skyview is looking for adult‑sized superhero costumes for our residents. We have some fun themed events coming up, and our folks absolutely love dressing up and getting into character.

If you have gently‑used costumes you’d like to donate — capes, masks, full outfits, anything superhero‑related — we would be grateful.
Our residents get such joy out of these moments, and your donation helps make their day a little brighter.

🌈 Wizard of Oz Anniversary Celebration

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated the anniversary of The Wizard of Oz with a fun and colorful themed event for our residents. We showed the original movie and transformed the hallway all the way to the lobby into our very own Yellow Brick Road.

We decorated with ruby red slippers, flying monkeys, and even created a tornado using a tomato cage. Staff built a “house with legs” just like the famous scene with the Wicked Witch — it was a huge hit.

Residents enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, lemonade, and punch, and everyone got individual photos in front of our Emerald City backdrop.

The residents had so much fun — smiles everywhere and lots of laughter. It was a magical afternoon here at Skyview.

🌞 Splash Day at Skyview

This afternoon our residents gathered outside for a wild and hilarious water‑day activity featuring a spinning cactus that sprays water.

Once that cactus started spinning, the laughter didn’t stop. Residents took turns tossing rings at it, cheering each other on as it sprayed water in every direction. Staff joined in with water guns, water balloons, and plenty of good‑natured mischief.

Our administrator, Braden Owen, came out and was a very good sport — the residents teamed up and made sure he didn’t leave dry. Staff and residents tossed water balloons back and forth, and the courtyard turned into a full‑on splash zone.

It was one of those afternoons where everyone smiled, everyone laughed, and everyone felt like a kid again. The joy was contagious, and the whole place was buzzing with excitement.

Skyview knows how to have fun — and today proved it.

✨ Craft Day Fun at Skyview

Yesterday we had a small but wonderful group come together for crafts, and the residents made burnt matchstick crosses that turned out beautifully.

Everyone enjoyed the creativity, the conversation, and the chance to make something meaningful. It was a simple activity that brought a lot of smiles and pride — the crosses looked amazing, and the residents had a great time.

We love seeing their talents shine during days like this.

On July 2nd, we hosted a wonderful Fourth of July barbecue for our residents here at Skyview, and it turned into a big community block party full of fun, food, and celebration.

The Bridgeport Fire Department made the afternoon extra special by putting on a beautiful fireworks show that our residents absolutely loved.

Dietary’s staff grilled hot dogs and made all the homemade fixings, giving everyone that true summertime cookout feeling.

We had games for all ages, prizes, and live music provided by Shane Brown and the get down band that kept the energy going all afternoon. Families, friends, and community members all came together, making it an afternoon full of laughter, connection, and great memories.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped and donated to make the event possible and to all who joined us in celebrating with our residents.
